I love you so much. So So much. This was bothering me SOOOOO much. So much.

That’s ridiculous, because a workplace is not required to comply with a request for an anxiety/emotional comfort animal, only a service animal that actually performs a specific trained behavior. The only places that have to comply with Emotional Support Animal requests are primary residences and airplanes.
I should also clarify, you CAN kick out a service animal for being poorly behaved, even if it is a legitimate service animal. It doesn’t matter if a person is blind and needs a seeing eye dog; as the owner of an establishment, you are expected to make “reasonable accommodation”. That means allowing the presence of the…
You don’t know if her chihuahua is a service dog or not based on size. She could be an epileptic whose dog notifies her about seizures, for example, and she isn’t legally required to disclose her health status to you.
Actually, the “therapy” animals you are referring to are emotional support animals/emotional comfort animals. “Therapy” animals are those that visit hospitals to cheer kids with cancer and whatnot.
There is no such thing as an “authorized” service animal. There is no legal body that authorizes and certifies the training of service animals. A service animal merely needs to perform specific functions through specific trained behaviors.
I am going to say this, even though it will be grey and then buried down at the very bottom, because the incorrect usage of service animal vs. therapy animal (and the conspicuous lack of ESA/ECA (emotional service/comfort animal) is killing me.
There is actually no federally required accreditation for service animals. If you are deaf and your brother billy bob can train your dog to come paw at your lap whenever somebody is at the door, your dog can meet the federally established criterion for a service animal.
Cats are therapy animals (or more accurately described, emotional comfort animal) but not service animals.
Credential system is irrelevant. In order for an animal to be considered a service animal, they have to be trained to perform a therapeutic behavior that wouldn’t come naturally to them. In your case, your cat would probably be recognized as an emotional comfort animal, which has certain housing-related protections…
I would agree that’s not a good living wage. According to this payscale calculator, though, the average starting wage for an ASE certified mechanic with less than one year of experience is $14.38. For someone without a degree, that’s pretty dang good.
After reading that article, I found interesting that they didn’t adjust for the age of the participants—unless I’m reading that wrong? So yes, older people would like have more sexual partners than younger partners. That doesn’t make younger partners less promiscuous; that just means that older people have had longer…
And yet, if we are to ask people in poverty exactly which programs they want funded, they tend to answer that they are specifically interested in vocational programs that will allow them to get better jobs and have a better standard of living. Are you telling these same people that they don’t know or understand what…
“I never hit that mythical “tons of energy and never hungry” place that they tout in the literature” <—actually one of the symptoms of anorexia, caused when your body begins to catabolize your own tissue. Scary.
Yeah, I’m going to need to see a citation on that.
Yes, but what percentage of those with no to low debt are those with parents that would have paid for your wedding, anyways?
Omg. Omg. You are my hero.
That waitress OWNED it.
OMG RIGHT?
Urgency is not considered when deciding whether or not to make a medication over the counter or not. The criteria for prescription vs. non-prescription use involve ease of use, potential side effects, medication interactions, etc.
