Her books are raw and honest and sometimes ugly. The Lost Daughter and Days of Abandonment are fucking real. I’ve read all but the last in the Neopolitan series, which I am saving for a good long indulgent read. I don’t want to come to the end of the series.

She answered my kid’s question at a book signing about ‘Catwings’ with all seriousness, which my kid (almost 20 years later)…

I adore and love Ursula Leguin not only for her sheer volume of work. I love her outspoken activism, her influence on younger writers, and because she’s a eked out a career and become highly successful in a male-dominated genre: sci-fi. As one of the early prolific female sci-fi authors, I’m sure she influenced…
