Ferrari exists to race. That’s their whole reason for being. They sell cars only to fund their programs in racing. Such as it was when the company initially began and so I hope it continues well beyond my years.
The only way anyone will ever buy Tesla, is if they fail at some point. The company is worth more than GM right now. So it would be cheaper to buy GM, than to buy Tesla. And right now it doesn’t seem like it’s going down any time soon.
Just the performance cars will be Polestars. But only “electrified” ones, so probably EVs and PHEVs. And since their most powerful cars right now are already hybrids, in addition to most of todays supercars being hybrids as well (P1, 918, LaFerrari, Regera), they probably won’t be scrapping performance.
I kind of dislike that they are going the BMW way of naming their cars. T8 once was a 8 cylinder turbocharged car.
Electrified is a pretty vague term. The same thing goes for world beating.
But even back in 2015 Tesla was worth 25 billion dollars. That’s a lot of money, even if you aren’t facing billion dollar lawsuits.
You think this will hurt him with his base? It’s just another distraction from everything bigger he has going on right now.
The Fiat 500 really isn’t what it used to be.
On your point three: I have noticed that too, but I found one: https://highlandernews.org/28240/28240/
That there are no pure Alfa dealers is another problem.
FCA makes absolutely trash automobiles for the general consumer market. Now if you want a 600hp muscle car or a rock climbing Jeep or whatever, fair enough, they’ve got that nailed in. But there’s nothing in the FCA portfolio, including this base Giulia that a general, grocery-getting, “Does it baby?”, I don’t want 4…
Well, if Porsche offered a new 911 for $200, everyone would buy one.
With sales numbers like that, it’s hard to justify the Giulia at all. Maybe it’s more popular in Europe, but with sales numbers like that, the car is bound to be a loss.
But Nürburgring times...
Meanwhile with an air-cooled 911 Turbo it’s just you, the car, and the god of your choosing.
You can’t be a good car company if you over emotionalize your own product. It is ok if your buyers do that, but it works better if at least some people, concerned with dictation making, keep emotional distance to the product.
I think he just went too fast into the corner. It already is a problem with mid engined cars, because they handle extremely well... until you push them beyond the limits.
Weirdly the best selling Cadillacs are the ones, they just apply makeup to. Which would usually mean they aren’t really good at building cars themselves, but IMO it is the other way around. Which makes the whole situation kind of weird.
It is very easy, instead of income taxes paying for roads, we’ll only have to pay tolls. And there are two nice things about it.
