It really IS Dany's home!

It's…still red?

"I'm just the son of a cra-"

Someone should've taught Bran this lesson.

It's giving me whiplash but I'm definitely not complaining. I always expected things to go more quickly once we got all the pieces on the board in place.

Oh I didn't mean that it's more humanitarian. War is hell no matter how you execute it. I mostly mean that she's put herself in a tight spot and got all of her allies destroyed, and she's STILL going to have to go the starve 'em out and bury them in dragon fire route anyway.

Dany just has no sense of humor whatsoever.

Lots of people were alarmed at Lady Olenna's advice to Dany in the second episode but it has borne out—drawing out the war to several fronts instead of just invading King's Landing has done far more harm than good so far.

Or maybe Sam kinda sucks at his job?

Librarian here! The chained books can be detached from their shelf chain and used *within* the library, but they can't be taken out. My guess is that, like in modern libraries, there are librarians (maesters or maesters-in-training) around to prevent those materials from being removed. I would assume materials that

There's a legit deep cut book reader patrilineal defense of Cersei's claim to the throne, but it doesn't really matter anyway because she just murderized a ton of people and essentially conquered King's Landing.

I'd argue that that's very close to just as bad as being dumb.

I've been on this train too—the only hiccup is that (assuming that Bran crossing the Wall breaks its magic) I think the Night King would rather bring down the Wall entirely than just kinda battle their way through the tunnel at Castle Black. He appears to want all of Westeros (and the world?) to be his wintery kingdom

OH! I like your theory about Jon going north of the Wall to get the horn to prevent the Night King from blowing it. I was wondering why on earth we saw those dudes north of the Wall in the trailer.

A fair point! My best guess is that culturally, the Northern folk are more inclined to believe the "superstitions" regarding the Long Night and the magical creatures beyond the Wall. In the North I'd be willing to bet that there are faaaar more people like Old Nan than like the maester-educated (and therefore cynical)

I'm definitely inclined to agree with that first part, about Dany's witch, based on the end of AFFC.

One big wrench in that in my mind: Jon isn't alive, technically speaking. And we're still not sure (in the books at least) if Dany can procreate. Having a ruling couple in which both parties are incapable of bearing children is…a recipe for disaster. Westeros would be primed for another war in 30 years or so.

THAAAAANK YOU. It's so annoying that people get all fussy about the faceless magic when we see SO MUCH unexplained phenomena.

Probably not, because that's who *she* thinks the prophecy is about. It would be much more emotionally gratifying for the reader(/viewer) if it's Jaime.

He *did* have the chance, and he didn't do it.
