We don’t have checkpoints here. Generally if a person is pulled over on suspicion of DUI they’re probably not sober. Deporting citizens for DUI was mostly meant in jest, should have added the /s.

Yes, Toronto is better. Alberta admittedly is the “deep south” of Canada in that sense.

During a P85D test drive a while back the guy told me and my friend to keep your heads facing forward and pressed against the headrest because the G force can hurt you. Well a few times we’d be distracted and sure enough our heads would be sideways when one of us punched it. We were each sore for a day or so after

Jeez, that’s crazy

No need to get butthurt about it

I lived in Alberta for 11 years, Texas for 21 and I had far more racist stuff go down in Alberta than in Texas. Canada kind of sucks.

Oh and don’t expect good service at restaurants lol. Most places we ate, the server took forever, couldn’t be found, etc, and would just saunter by occasionally. No such thing as a quick bite to eat or a quick pint if you’re being waited on. They’ll still lovingly accept a good ol’ American tip though.

Smile, be nice, and “Bonjour, Je Suis American...English?” will usually get you by. The french aren’t as jerky as they’re made out to be and the vast majority of them know english and will help if they know you’re not a jerk.

Honestly, if you smile and go “Bonjour, Je Suis American...English?” then 9 times out of 10 the person knows English and is helpful. Bon Soir (pronounced Bone Swah) is good evening and that’s literally the most french I really need. Learn more for your own edification, but the truth and courtesy can easily get you by.

She is a permanent resident, but she still faces deportation due to what her advocates refer to as a “substance-abuse related arrest.” Court records show Pablos was arrested for driving under the influence several years ago. (She spent two years in detention fighting the deportation order.)

Pablos, 32, is an organizer with the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health

Actually yes. Anywhere in the USA is leaps and bounds better than living in SA. Especially if you’re a woman, or not especially religious.

I mean, you’re not going to get a ballot at the polls if you didn’t register to vote to begin with (usually at least a few weeks prior to the election). So technically that process SHOULD filter out the illegals and non-citizens from voting because it won’t issue them a ballot after that.

Illegals can get a student ID here. They can’t get a gun, so that might be the actual reason.

Illegals have utility bills here, so can’t use only that.

You can’t fly within the United States from most states with a college ID, you need government issued ID or a drivers license.

School IDs aren’t official government IDs. You can’t fly from LA to New York with your boarding pass and Student ID.

A student ID is not government issued, and schools issue them to undocumented students.

That was my first thought too, but some google searching hasn’t led me to any ties between that name and tomatoes. It’s really obscure and creative if he is Tomato.
