Interstate maintenance is largely a state/local matter. Not the feds.

Texas got 600m in 2016 in federal funds for our highways. 0.6Billion basically. JFK isn’t falling into a sinkhole. Neither are any states freeways. Freeways and airports get different funding from rail and local subway anyway. it’s not the same federal dollars.

I’m all about expanding any non-road based transportation. I live in a city with pathetic public transport and 1 shitty metro rail line that took 10 years to create.

I think it should be fixed regardless of who pays for it, but the state(s) aren’t helpless children. if the feds back out, figure it out. that’s what most of “flyover country” does
