You call those cameras needless until you’re in a small sedan that has large pickups on either side of you as you’re trying to back out of a space in a busy shopping center in a town where drivers treat parking lots like a raceway and have to pray they’ll stop because no way you can see them until it’s too late.

Probably a combination of being too dumb to know what they’re stealing and just grabbing what they could. But probably more dumb than anything.
