Yeah, no.
Sucks that they sold his truck that he was so excited for, but I would be quick to take that $5k. The fact that they even offered that money to him makes the dealership less scummy.
I call B.S., Ford tags their customer special orders as green window stickers. It is very obvious. When we bought our F-150, it was a special customer order that didn’t get picked up. We picked it up off the lot. The salesman had to get clearance to sell it from the manager on shift.
The small details doesn’t matter the owners name is on the sign and the bucks stops there. Even if its a mistake does not make it excusable business practice.
A friend of mine was waiting over 2 years for his Maverick, he ended up cancelling his order and buying something in stock.
Man, I am sure glad that the dealership model is protected by state laws. They provide such great value.
“Sadly modern engine with plastic manifolds and cam covers and miles of wiring have become ugly messes best covered up.”
obligatory
Newer Mazda engine covers have always been pretty easy to remove. The engine cover on my 2017 has 4 rubber mounting holes, and is a pull-off/press-on design with no fasteners to turn. Depending on why I’m removing the engine cover, I would prefer a pull-off design over the hinged version.
Mazda should be applauded for making an engine cover that’s easier to move out of the way. Sadly modern engine with plastic manifolds and cam covers and miles of wiring have become ugly messes best covered up.
Uh, do you think the state AG goes after McDonald’s franchises for all having the same price?
Ford dealers right now
It’s not the dealers colluding to a fixed price. It is an agreement between Ford and their dealers on a sales practice and they have the right to do that as the Franchisor.
I remember saturn no haggle pricing split people into the hate it or love it camps. Bros that thought that they would always be able to negotiate a better price hated it. Others liked it because they did not pay more because they did not look like the salesman at the dealership.
One of my favorite things to do is find articles about entertainment products that bore me and make a comment about how I don’t enjoy them. They aren’t products that make me mad, or that I think are ethically problematic in some way. They’re just things that don’t personally appeal to me, and I need to make sure that…
Everyone who complained about this is a moron. And that’s being generous. What’s next? Omg they added an autosort for the inventory what about muh immersion?
Time to drop this lovely proverb:
I have grown completely dead to the cries of “MUH EMMERSIOOOONN!!!”. They cry because having auto oil breaks immersion, but act like having to stop go through 2 menu screens and dig through a horribly sorted inventory screen (that you have no control over) to find the correct oil doesn’t immediately take you out of…
Great comment, thanks for contributing.
