The Gawker comments section is a left wing echo chamber on a scale that beggars belief.

2k cooler? Yes.

I wanted a V60 so badly until my wife tried sitting in one at the dealership. She’s 4'11" and the steering wheel didn’t have enough adjustment range for her to reach the pedals without hugging the wheel. In the interest of not getting murdered by an airbag we moved on to look at other cars.

I don’t even like that paint scheme usually and yet that bike just gets me going.

I know JMo loves the bike but I didn’t realize it was her personal bike. I assumed Rally Raid was loaning it to her.

No need to move the goalposts when I answered you already:

Laughably wrong because you’ve never tried it?

That’s fine. I’ll bring along the fact that he won the European Le Mans series because physics has nothing to do with reaction times and racing instincts.

Wow, I’ve never heard that one before /s

You go right on ahead believing that. It’s a free country, and you’re free to be wrong.

Well considering his endurance racing record he’s far beyond the point of “let me try endurance racing”

Hoy is a track racer, which requires the same kind of reaction speed and instincts as what you get in car racing. If he was a time trialist that would be one thing but track and criterium racing both require very fast reflexes and a good head for racing tactics.

Insert obligatory “I don’t need no fancy tech on my bike. I want purely mechanical lightweight blah blah this is why nobody works on their own bikes anymore blah blah people should learn to ride without aids blah blah.”

Is there any chance you might do a review of a Rally Raid CBX? A lot of people on the forums are curious about how it compares to the Africa Twin given that it’s half the displacement but a fair bit lighter.

I’ve been watching the development thread on ADVrider ever since they first announced that they were going to make this kit. The pipeline for products for this bike is fantastic and just keeps getting better. They also do a 17" spoked front wheel and an ABS on/off switch. In theory later this year they’re going to be

I ride my stock CBX in the dirt and it’s a hoot to slide around. Needs a sprocket change for hardcore off road duty though.

There’s a handful of articles out there where they tested the Rally Raid L3 CBX against the KLR. The short version is that the CBX is way better on the road and gives up very little off road. It also has the benefit of a modern engine.

Because the CBX is better on tarmac, has much longer service intervals, and is more reliable

What about the smaller displacement ADV bikes? The 800s are lovely in the dirt and aren’t all that heavy to pick up. And they’re still plenty of fun on the road. I ride a CB500X because while it’s not as good as a sportbike on the road or a dual sport off road, I only have room for one bike and I’m not willing to give

No, it’s just ugly. Not so-ugly-its-cool like the A-10. Just ugly.
