Aside from all the science of how important it is for child development and physical health, especially for girls and young women?

Unless you’re being tongue in cheek (I can’t tell on this site anymore) The standard you’re advocating for is silly. No one wants to watch some dude who would have been a bench warmer for the Washington Generals score 50 PPG in the WNBA, that’s dumb.

Sure, and while we’re at it... let’s get rid of age restrictions too! If kids and seniors want to compete, they’ll have to earn a place on the bench with the rest of the pros.

My favorite part of this rambling mess (the article, not your response) is the insinuation that breezy “easy to watch” television is white media and black media should be about pain and suffering. After all this is suppose to be a article about the lack of diversity at the Emmys, but half of it seems to be complaining

Well thank you. I am asking questions in good faith. Again, I am in favor of abortion on demand - but abortion can be pretty traumatic and should not be a replacement for birth control. The end game is to assist women not to get pregnant in the first place if they don’t want to bear a child.

Nope, don’t care. As much as it feels like a privilege that they don’t have to bathe every day, it is also a privilege to be able to bathe every day. I am unconcerned about people’s bathing habits unless it’s actual neglect or based in trauma.

1) Water is an invaluable and irreplaceable resource, and no one should be bathing everyday. It’s irresponsible, and extremely selfish.

Characteristics. But you can’t change your chromosomes.

Statistics? Census? Data?

The thing is that Dune needs a lot of space for its space. It should really be a TV series a la Game of Thrones.

Honestly. This is so fucking stupid. The world is falling apart around us. Women in Afghanistan are about to be subject to a tirade of violence when the U.S. withdraws. The planet is burning alive. American democracy is on the verge of collapse. My city is filled with smoke. I can’t with this.

Death threats are certainly alarming regardless of how they materialize,

“Online harassment and death threats are terrible, unless it’s happening to someone I don’t like. In that case it’s NBD.”

The whole exchange was dumb on both sides. I’m tired of Jen trying to one up every little jab and insult that comes her way. This isn’t a fucking comedy hour, and all it does is fuel the other side.

It’s the Jezebel “Taylor Swift” syndrome. The writers of Jezebel have decreed it, so I guess we all have to hear about it and listen to them complain about it until someone else swoops in.

I read King’s twitter thread in its entirety.

The idea that Covid-19 either originated from the WVI or as a result of sample collection without proper PPE seems credible. Dismissing it outright feels naive at best, and fuels distrust of media and government.

Adding to the excellent points from others in the comment section, I just want to add that I’m really disappointed at the tone of this piece. Jezebel is about empowering women, giving us information, and understanding the daily trials that society and the patriarchy throw at us. Or did this kind of mission change?

I’m thrown by the sneering at people who don’t want to use hormonal birth control? I haven’t used it in years, not because I’m a sucker for “wellness” buzzwords but because it made a noticeable negative difference for me. I’m excited that we’re exploring alternatives because my (non-hormonal) IUD was really painful to
