The car behind it lost its brakes on a drive route before the weekend. I don’t believe he lost points for it in the Concours, since that sort of thing happens FAR more than the Pebble committee is willing to publicize (these cars are hardly ever used, so dry rotted brake lines are a major issue).

Legends of the Autobahn on Friday. Along with the story of the road going car, that was another important detail left out. The M3 GTR race car will probably also be at Laguna Seca on display. Not sure about the GTR road car yet.

The BMW CCA would like to remind everyone that these cars will be on display at Legends of the Autobahn for the duration of the show on Friday! That seems like an important thing to note. Also, I would recommend getting there early in the morning. For... reasons.

My confusion is that the interior view gives so much helpful information that the rearward swing angle/chase cam does not. Maybe I had too hardcore a setup, but back when I was into sim racing, I would run with a Logitech G25 and use interior view for everything I could, and could match the wheel to the wheel in game,

That does vary from game to game. I entered the GT Academy Nissan competition thing with my Logitech G25 a few years ago, but I remember reading that a lot of the top places were using the game pads to achieve their times. It’s one of those “better than reality” issues, where the smaller travel on the controller make

A solid review, but this paragraph brings up a baffling (and recurring) point that seems to come up often:

Well, fuck. This stuff hits way too close to home, much like the tragic Lime Rock Historics crash last year. It’s not like this is at a far-off track on another continent, or even a tragic Formula One fatality, in downforce cars running near 200. These are the tracks that we drive, and know people who drive, and

First of all, if it were actually priced at $2,000, sure. Because I’d rip everything out and put a Ford 302 into it and an autocross-spec interior.

Safari isn’t letting me star you, but yes ahahahaha.

He’s still right though. Obviously you can get away with “recharging” in the same way that you can get around a power steering leak by putting in more fluid, or an oil leak by putting in more oil. That doesn’t mean it’s normal.

Looks like I’ll be continuing to register all my cars in Vermont. VT doesn’t issue titles after 15 years, which makes it a mess to register anything out of state for a new owner (I had to have two notarized documents, one of which was an etching of the VIN, plus my registration to sell to a guy in NJ). This kind of

Oh, never mind. Completely missed that (Craigslist link was gone when I clicked, and I couldn’t be bothered to click anything else). I change my vote.

...Do people know nothing about the used BMW market? $5k is what a super clean, stock 325e would go for, and people ask—and receive—$10k+ for even mediocre V8 swaps. This is an unbelievable price, and it’s no wonder it sold instantly.

That’s perfectly reasonable, but a very different argument than cost.

...And that was why I replied to them and said “Oh wow, they still make that thing. Jeez. Well, at least they have something nice-looking.” Which is the comment you replied to, actually. So... yes?

At a certain point in wealth, it doesn’t matter, and TaxTheRich is definitely on the far side of that distinction.

Oh wow, they still make that thing. Jeez. Well, at least they have something nice-looking.

The problem is that of those cars, one is out of production, one is a concept, and two are lame.

...Did that channel literally just upload BMW’s press video reel verbatim?

Which engine? My E24 had a bad clutch master cylinder when I got it, and combined with a self-loosening connection to the pedal itself, I was once force to drive it 30 minutes home from a dead stop in 4th.
