Blade II is a masterpiece. Maybe the greatest comic book movie ever.*

Best Die Hard ripoff?

I forget… why does everyone hate Jeremy Renner?

Oh man I need to rewatch The Insider. That movie fucking owns.

Was All the Pretty Horses a bad movie? I just read the book recently and was curious how it held up.

Well don't leave us hanging… did you ever get enough of her love?

Don't forget prostitution. Sweet sweet prostitution.

Have you seen the sequel, Into the Storm, with Brendan Gleeson playing Churchill? I haven't seen either and have both lined up in my queue but wondered how the sequel stacks up.

And how awful you feel about yourself after.

Yes, and they were execrable.

I dunno if it's overrated, but I'll take Batman Begins over it any day of the week. That movie blew my freakin' mind when I first saw it.

I can't actually imagine that this wasn't a studio-mandated PG-13.

That movie is an all time top 5 for me. Endlessly rewatchable.

I love that Not Another Teen Movie is still a thing that gets referenced. That movie's great.

Mastodon - "Pendulous Skin"

They never got enough credit for being as weird as they were. At the peak of their popularity, they had songs as bizarre as Applebite and Switch Opens on that album.

YES. That is the all time grungiest of grunge songs.

Little known fact: Gin Blossoms and Toad the Wet Sprocket are the same band.

There's nothing wrong with the song other than that it's been played to death and I never need to hear it again. The same can be said for Smells Like Teen Spirit. Doesn't mean they aren't great. It's just hard to still hear that greatness when those songs never ever went away after 20+ years.

I just read your above comment on Salute. What a great book. So much cool stuff in that book and the clear highlight was Maturin visiting a Buddhist temple and just chilling with a bunch of orangutans. O'Brian continues to amaze me as a writer.
