@sigurrosuntitled: to be fair.. if you've a house full of small children, you're going to have clutter no matter what until the kids learn to put stuff away as well.. which is sometimes hard for them to learn.. same can sometimes be said for pets who are often fond of pulling their toys out, but not so much the

@Ashwin Mudigonda: we have a similar problem with our house.. there is apparently no isulation in the floor between the main floor and the basement.. which means that sound travels both directions pretty easily, but it is especially bad downstairs where people (or very small dogs) walking around will occasionally

I live in Alaska. I have already started the end of summer cleaning and migration (mikes and such to the shed) clean out the garage. Will soon be sealing up some of the windows, esp in the basement to help trap heat in. Will be moving the summer car box out and moving the winter one in. Hubby will be doing car

@wagnerrp: yes, but nowadays more and more people live in tightly packed apartments or subburbs and when hey burn themselves down, they might take others with them.. and that's just not fair to those who are careful about such things.. do love the timer switched though.. they are great for combating forgetful

@—Core—: I'm much the same way, my dad worked at the nuclear power plant and was always wandering the house turning lights off (Once he even turned off the light I was using to read by cuz he didn't see me there, then came back in and asked why I was reading in the dark..) So I'm usually pretty good about turning

@krztov: and then we have to add, new season of Castle tonight!! :) (since it does star one of our favorite sci-fi actors, even if the show's not.... hey, at least he has steady work right now..)

@yn3russ: nope I thought the same thing.. well, actually, I thought, :gee what lousey looking Skeksis they've got." Then I realized they're going more for the buzzard look... ah well...

or if you just want a way to contain a real wood fire in your back yard, go to the hardware store, buy a big heavy metal wash tub, hammer a few holes around the bottom to allow for air flow. Collect enough rocks from around the yard for it to sit on (stability is good) and give the area around where you plan to put

@tty2k7: i see ones like these all the time in the home depot/lowes near by.. we've thought of getting one if my step son ever moves back home and we have to convert the shed for him to live in... (heh...)

@ClockworkTiger: lol.. yes on both counts! back when we kept mice as pets (instead of just having to deal with all the wild ones that like to invade our house every year...) we named several of them after Maurice's troop... :)

@astrogea: is love from me for Pushing Daisies... I miss that show...

we ditched cable earlier this year and so for tv right now if we watch stuff, it's streamed, either hulu or netflix or the broadcast company's site. Most of it streams just fine and dandy on our home line, even over the wii, though that does tend to take longer to buffer on the wii.. my hubby has a wireless modem that

@BuhoLoco40: my husband wants to know if you can make her an Adriene Barbeau-Bot....

@ObiHaiv: the ones we've ordered from China are tiny little 3 watt or so ones, they aren't really good for lighting up a room (though they do just fine for stair lights and over the bed reading lights.. but they were only about $5 or so each... usually from geeks.com or dealextreme.com are our usual sources, when

@valmorphorize: we have that problem in Alaska.. just about everyone and their dog has a big white SUV.. for some reason the lots up here seem to stock nothing but if they can help it, so it can be easy to wonder which one is yours even if you know about where you parked.. We have little stuffed penguins sitting on

@ObiHaiv: sorry, I was referring to LEDs.... :)

@ObiHaiv: hubby and I are ordering em quick as we can.. cheap from China! :) lol

@Starlionblue: we haven't used an incandescent bulb for anything in years. My husband is an electrician, we switched over 6 years ago. We are now working on switching over to LED. As mentioned, you get use to it and can find different types of bulbs, though some of them can be hard to find. I tend not to use lights if

@laylaholic: agreed.. we don't have ac in too many places here in Alaska, not worth it for the maybe 2 days it might get hot enough for it.. we just use ceiling fans or open the window to cool the house. I just make the kids suffer and tell em to put on a sweater or another pair of socks if they get cold during the

@Fiddlefaddle01: watch without them, they can watch it on their own... depriving you of Who... for shame!
