Funny you say that. I was an extra on a Jessica Alba movie and she was lovely to everyone, extras included.

Emily Thorne (Emkfit on Youtube). If you like a dance party workout, her videos are 20 minutes long with a new theme each week, and not intimidating for non-dancers (she teaches and repeats 2 counts of 8 in a HIIT pattern). It’s a good, quick sweat, and an excellent mood elevator!

He told 3M not to ship to Canada, either, a week ago. It’s been all over the news here but seems not to have caught American media attention.

I’m confused about the assignment, so here’s a brief story for each situation.

This probably won’t make it out of the greys, but I wanted to tell you that your writing is gorgeous.

Last summer, Canada Day long weekend. I had the two worst dates of my life. One was so horrible that I cut it off during the first drink, after the guy suggested I be less picky, lest I (god forbid) end up a single woman into my late thirties. The weekend went from laughable to exhausting to a slide into depression. I

Last Canada Day weekend. I went on the two worst dates of my life; on the absolute bottom of the barrel, the guy (who had lied about his age) was rude to the server, kept trying to stroke my arm, and repeatedly bragged about his income. I called time of death on it halfway through his first drink after he told me I

Nothing demonstrates this more to me than watching men and women get pedicures. I (and most women I know) breathe through the pumice stone and apologize for squirming. Then a man comes in for the first time, yelps out loud when it tickles and says “no, sorry, you can’t do that to me again.” I hate that we are taught

We had this in Canada. Judge Robin Camp asked the survivor (whom he repeatedly called “the defendant” in the judgment) why she didn’t just keep her legs closed while being assaulted. The Court of Appeal had words for him, as did the Canadian legal education community, and he was removed from the bench.

I went on that date! The final straw was when he told me that I should lower my standards, lest I be single into my late thirties (he was 38). He told me that was OK for him, and it was fine if I didn’t like him, because there were other women and “it’s a man’s world, it just is.” I told him it was great that he had

I went to a Maroon 5 show last year. Adam Levine is not my type at all. But in person...damn. He oozes sexual charisma. It was confusing to want to throw panties at him.

I honestly do wonder what in my search history led to that particular ad! I have Adblocker. I had previously whitelisted Jez to support it, but the blaring audio ads are ridiculous. Back on block it goes!

Jesus, Jezebel, the ads! Who signs off on autoplay for audio/visual ads? I thought the Starbucks one was bad enough...but vaginal probiotics?!

I’m super disappointed that Jez hasn’t touched this story. The only GMG post I’ve seen about it was on Deadspin, in reference to the moment of silence at Leafs game.

I have seriously contemplated running as an independent in my riding, just to be an alternative on the ballot in this terrible election. Then I saw Han Dong’s “I Love Dong” re-election flyer...and there’s just no competing with it!

I would be happy to engage with you on this. I agree that just because I don’t see it does not mean it’s not there. I’m simply stating my perspective on it. I think that forcing someone to sign an NDA when you’ve wronged them is silencing them. Threatening their livelihood is silencing them. Offering them money they

I still don’t see the coercion or the crime, or what’s actually wrong with what the “catch and kill” process. If the language of the contract did not specify that they would publish the story, they were under no obligation to do so. As Acorn noted, if her lawyer did not read and advise of these terms, then she might

Yes. This is not “legal hell.” Nor is this the same as the Weinstein DNAs. These are women who engaged in consensual affairs and then sold the rights to their stories, signing contracts they possibly did not understand. There’s no coercion here and there’s no crime being covered up.

They touch on it a bit in that article, but I’ve also read (I will try to find the link) that this didn’t exactly blindside the party, they’ve known for a few months that these stories were out there.

The whole DiManno/Blatchford view that it’s the young woman’s responsibility to say no and walk away completely misses that fact that she was a summer employee (in addition to being a teenager). This certainly looks like misconduct, and workplace harassment.
