My girlfriend bought a car, used, 2 years ago after her previous car experienced a too-expensive-to-repair mechanical failure too far from home. She got a loan for the replacement vehicle, for 5 years (seriously?) and we then paid it off after 13 months by never paying less than twice the monthly payment.
The best way to avoid ever possibly defaulting on a car loan is not to finance a depreciating asset! Save up for a while and pay cash. Buy a solid used car from a private party and be thousands (or tens of thousands) ahead.
I know a few. usually buying large tricked out trucks that serve no purpose beyond ferry them to walmart and for a place to keep their truck nuts hanging loose.
I feel like I’m living on a different planet than people who praise the original avatar (much like the revisionist takes on the star wars prequels). like the assessment just seems factually wrong (though obviously everything is subjective. Even people who didn’t like it will praise the visuals and like... it looks…
While T2 is definitely the better looking and more polished of the two I think one is the better movie. As you said it’s very straightforward and gritty that seems to make it more impactful. Plus when you really think about it every Terminator since the original is some what convoluted to some degree.
I’ve long maintained that Terminator 2 is better than the original in every way. A few months back I watched both back to back with someone who’d seen neither, and we both definitely felt Terminator 1 was so amazingly taut and straightforward.
You spend the whole article talking about the weight, but never actually state the weight. Only that it weighs 100 pounds more than another car (with a link to an article about that car). Just state the weight. Or the weight of the 570S so we can do the math.
And that’s supposed to look attractive??? 🤨 Those pics up top... They all look like the character in a zombie movie who’s been hiding the fact they got bit and are going to suddenly turn at the most plot-[in]convenient time. 😬
It’s like watching Hummer implode all over again.
absolutely hated that fucking movie, but i love that we officially have a trilogy of failed trilogy starters. that ain’t nothing.

I see you... decided to go with a slideshow for this one, AV Club.
An “A” review that spends multiple opening paragraphs gushing about how just gosh-darn awesome James Cameron is before quietly admitting “Well, okay, the first third of the movie is all drag-y exposition” is not what I would call confidence-inspiring.
Cameron peaked with the original Terminator.
The correct answer.
A film had to be made from organic raw babies and unicorn fur to earn an A from the AV Club. Now anything can get one.
Thanks for adding to the conversation!
