Watching the Switch subreddit the past few days was amazing. Nintendo ignoring the rumours completely the past few weeks, and then 2 days ago suddenly posting a random image of a bird on its twitter made people go banana’s. Then the random posts by random Nintendo offices, followed by random other gaming companies…
It was actually genius really. They understand their fanbase. I was watching here, reddit and Nintendolife like a hawk and everybody was speculating as to when and if this was happening. Rather than do what everybody else does, they help create a sense of urgency- a need to be on alert. It’s stressful, but brilliant…

Arguably, you could say the cracks started forming in ACIII. But Unity was a hot mess. But even despite it’s flaws, I thought Unity was an OK AC game.
Yeah, the open world Loot Whoring works way better than I expected it to. And it doesn’t hurt that Bayek is one of the most likable protagonists in the series, like Ezio, Edward Kenway, and the Fryes. And I love that while he’s obviously driven by his son’s death, he’s not some grimdark humorless avenger.
This door might be the most beautiful thing I’ve seen in a video game all year.
