It’s even more infuriating than you think.

“SHE SAID MY NAME!”
And I’m sure his general attitude about that is some kind of asinine “there goes another tolerant liberal who can’t stand anyone with different political beliefs than theirs!”
“Asking for real because being friends with a republican should not be compared to being friends with a rapist.”
Or I just choose better restaurants.

DRAFT ANALYSIS
Hey, I genuinely appreciate this rundown. After your initial reply back to me, I actually went back to find older Best Of list intros and gave up after the first couple I came across had an intro similar to this one—criteria for what media was a valid include, but not much on the methodology used.
To be clear, the comment to which you are responding is specific to Fury Road transcending the action genre, which is a question that is irrespective of how it compares to the MCU (which is *also* not transcendent in any way).
Well, like I said in my last reply...
It’s always interesting to find someone who is so cemented in their opinion that their only possible reaction to an argument that might challenge said opinion is to find increasingly absurd and ill-supported justifications.
By all means, enlighten me.
“transcended”
I don’t pretend to know the mechanics of how you arrive at and rank 100 movies out of the thousands that were released in the span of a decade.
“Yes, the comparison of films being made from an immensely popular work/book that was one of the dominant film making genres of the 50's has no comparison to this at all. None.”
I’m not going to spend any time hammering on what seems like a conscious effort to minimize the presence of “comic book” movies on this list, since Into The Spiderverse (rightfully) got a spot. I think Guardians of the Galaxy probably also deserved a spot and maybe Logan as well. But hey, a SHITLOAD of movies get…
Ex Machina is a glaring omission. Just absurd.
“I will say however that film makers in the 50's took over 1,950 years of Biblical stories and made just as many films from said source: they were huge hits and some even won Oscars. Time has not been kind to them and while a few endure, most have not. And that’s how I see the MCU personally.”
““the astounding feat” - can you clarify this a bit for me?”
It’s hilarious to me that they (clearly intentionally) omitted all those types of movies, then laid a giant turn on the entire list by putting Fury Road at #1.
