this. god i miss my pork roll egg and cheese

Are you implying that getting an egg mcmuffin at McDonald's is really the most local and regional you can do?

All of my NJ friends always order "Taylor ham and cheese" sandwiches for breakfast. I still don't know what Taylor ham is. I also don't eat any sort of pig product, so that makes sense.

UGH! This would be like saying Massachusetts' best culinary contribution is the Necco Wafer! I typically like this author and have used some of his recipes, but he's obviously never been to NJ if he's unfamiliar with a PREC on a bagel.

Best Philly cheesesteak I ever had was at a small bus stop in New Jersey. Been there 15 times, and never was impressed with the taffy.

Taffy fucking sucks.

I agree, pork roll, egg, and cheese is it. Love it or hate it, just about everybody in Jersey knows what it is. Hell the "Jersey Burger" is on just about every diner menu and most of the time it's just a regular burger with pork roll added. Plus the "Taylor Ham" vs "Pork Roll" argument is known to start ridiculous

Pork roll, egg, and cheese is actually a thing? I thought it was only a Ween song, and something they invented to sound disgusting.

I posted this already like a douchebag down in the grays. But yes, I came here to say that Jersey should be taylor ham, egg and cheese on a bagel.

I used to make my Jersey family bring me pork roll in Vermont, but you can get it here now, so all is well.

At least four things should have come before salt water taffy, pork roll being the most obvious, but also Italian hot dogs, disco fries and rippers.

It's Taylor Ham, not pork roll!

Paulie Walnuts demands to know where the macaroni and gravy is

Yup, taffy is tourist boardwalk crap. Pork roll is it.

Salt-water taffy is as disappointing as eating Turkish Delight for the first time and realizing C.S.Lewis lied.

pork roll is great but no one ever knows what it is unless they lived in Jersey. I had to bring one to college to prove to my neighbors that yes, there is really a food product called "pork roll"

This. Then again, reading the rest of this, I think the author has something against food.

This is exactly what I came to post.

I would've gone with reheated baked ziti.

But how does he feel about Hull?
