That’s the thing - until we have a few more episodes to show us if there ramifications for the rape, then we really don’t know if it’s relevant or not.

Just bought a bottle of this... I don’t know jack about sunscreen, I just know that Coppertone has been a favorite in my family for years, and we’re from a hot, sunshiney place. It’s just never occurred to me to get anything different, and it’s in every store that you’d expect to have sunscreen. Half my family tends…

I’m super curious, too. I’ve always been irregular, so I didn’t catch on to my pregnancy until I was already almost 2 months in. I didn’t gain any weight, either - I lost some, gained it back, and ultimately weighed the same the day I went into labor as the days before I had a person in my womb (I gave birth early -…
My husband did this job once that put him in Michael Jordan’s home. Like so many other celebrities, Mr. Jordan did not allow “help” to look him in the eye, and they were warned not to... I don’t think husband got a glimpse of the NBA star, anyway, so it was moot.
I totally agree - I’m not saying that I think *that’s* the solution... I’m mostly making a prediction if they manage to actually put the proposed drug testing and stuff in place. If they do that, and they actually catch users/addicts, then (since it’s all gov’t), they’d have to involve child services. Which means all…
Thanks - seriously! There’s so much shit wrong in our country that it’s hard to keep up with it all :( That would be a good step to maybe get ahead of a lot of our nation’s social issues. Ugh this breaks my heart... I knew a family that fostered kids, but they were (as near as anyone could tell) super nice people and…
LOL I’d guess that people that actually have these unrealistic expectations (buy healthy, but not expensive healthy!) probably won’t be happy with anything unless it’s shameful to the food stamp user. They’d probably approve if FS users could only buy the cheapest “whole” food options, and then they should have to…
Right? Don’t buy good food... but don’t buy junk food.
I would imagine that if the parents failed drug tests that were administered because they’re deemed at risk to be addicted, it might actually be for the child’s best interest because they would then, I assume, be obligated to involve Child Services. I would imagine that being put in foster care might be preferable to…
I was basically about to say the same thing. It’s no excuse, of course, because ultimately we are all responsible for making the right choices for ourselves... and obviously choosing time with a phone over a loved one is neglectful.
Thanks so much for your response - I’ll think I’ll do just that. I never really questioned their welfare because they looked happy enough and I always tip on top of the $45... but I really want to make sure.
Wow that is super cheap - do you think it might be safe to go to my place, then? The place I usually go to seems like a super tiny operation (I see the same people there, but I go super rarely), so I like to think they’re all, like, family and probably look out for one another...
See, the place I usually go seems like a family run place - there’s maybe 3-4 people that work there and I just get a nice vibe there. I don’t think I can just go up and ask if anyone there is living in desperate poverty or if they’re here illegally or anything without being very rude... and I very rarely pay others…
This is why I’m confused - every nail place I have gone to has charged at least $45 for a mani/pedi. Is that “cheap?”
“Self-expression” is totally a thing. I learned to do it (it’s not easy, but once you get the hang of it...) when I was lactating.
I read your comment correctly :) I could have gone on to specify that I feel like I can’t have a second child because I don’t get paid enough. Whether or not I’m entitled to baby #2, well, that’s an argument that I’m too biased to weigh on!
Does the office culture legitimately support men taking the leave? Or is it like “it’s here! But if you take it, we’re gonna judge you!”
This. My husband was a stay at home dad because it made the most financial sense at the time. And he did a damn fine job, if it needs to be said.
My baby was born 11 weeks early. I got a grand total of 2 weeks off. After a natural birth, you’re not allowed to drive for 1 week. So I had to use all of my paid leave for that. But a VP up high in the company offered me 5 days of their paid leave so that I could bring my baby home from the hospital at the end of her…
I think it’s really sad when people that really want children and would (hopefully) be amazing parents feel like they can’t/shouldn’t because of money.
