Anybody who doesn’t think strangulation is serious has never seen the photo of Nigella Lawson being strangled by her ex-husband (Saatchi). It’s horrifying. The look on her face of powerlessness.
So where’d the whole thread where people attacked Mortal Dictata before he got banned go? I would like to be able to read what these terrible things were MD was accused of.
I love what a fuck you this song was everyone judging them all on looks. Favourite part of the video is when they hoist up their skirts to go down the stairs.
Holy crap! When did you come back?! Good to see you. I read something about some group threatening to doxx you way back. I hope it wasn’t true and that you’re ok.
I bet a lot of it comes down to his own insecurities. He must know that he was the least cool member of his own band; so he took it out on the girl. And nobody in the 90s and 00s music journalism scene stood up for her. Cool. Thanks.
Would love to see you talk about this versus Mother!, which followed it by several years and is a pretty close copy in terms of core plot, just done dark and with more arthouse abstract to elevate it to intellectual fare, while Ruby Sparks still languishes at the bottom of the “art” scale as “rom com”. In a way,…
Well, if you include the ending, then Mother! is basically a remake of this story, just extruded through a gritty, dark arthouse filter. Which is also great because on a meta level, this 2012 movie is written Zoe Kazan, a woman, and Mother! was made by Darren Aronofsky, both about a creative man siphoning the…
Looks like Christina Hendrick’s outfits, hair, jewelry, and smoking were modeled on Crawfords and just put in retro technicolor.
“How did you feel?”
I love how she has this sort of winking laugh at him around 1:30. Brilliant! They could each do so much and build these full people. It really is like being a fly on the wall. Even with some of the supoosedly “best”** we have today there’s always this feeling that they know exactly where the camera is the whole time…
He also played a sherriff on the first season of that ABC show about a fairytale world/s. My roommate made me watch the first season and I was down for it because he was charming and oozed humor and had hints of good comic timing. But then he peaced out to do the role in The Fall which is in my list of top TV ever…
Duc (Raymond Lee), Ashley (Jerrika Hinton), and Ramon (Daniel Zovatto) were—as Ashley and Duc conveniently explain to an outsider—adopted from Vietnam, Liberia, and Colombia. “All places America totally fucked,” Duc helpfully adds, in case the subtext is too subtle.
Yeah, you can actually pick up the acting this time around. Like when he nervously smiles at Kira. Before it was just drowned out. You couldn’t pick up any details with the real trailer, or any of the nuance of any of it. It was not about nuance.
The chime that goes off when Donald Glover smiles at 0:35 is perfection.
Pence is a true believer in the fanatical evangelical vision. I believe he would be much worse than Trump. Trump is too stupid to get out of his own way or make his much lauded “deals” and give congress what they want in order to get what he wants. Pence would sell everything in the White House and the US to corporate…
I think the answer would be Pence and the Republic of Gilead are both sexist and misogynistic. Sexist in the way they think women are limited, misogynistically violent and suppressive in their reaction to women proving them wrong.
...I suppose I could just name all three of them “James.”
If only Zoolander 2 had been good, then we might’ve gotten Zoolander 3. Then we could drag male models forevvvaaaaahhhh.
