I think Serial proved that there were a lot of issues with the police case and the trial, and evidently Jay has admitted to perjury. So even if he did do it, he still deserves a fair trial.

From my perspective as someone who was never Greek and graduated college in the long long ago, the problem is that the statement is, well, empty sounding. It sounds like what I heard out of the frats a decade ago: "yeah, we're like, umm... totally about being responsible."

Let's put this in fiscal terms, shall we?

My husband and I both work, but we don't make a lot of money. At one point, when it was just me working, we made $37 too much to qualify for food assistance.

I vote any politician suggesting cuts to food stamps should have to live off them for a minimum of a month before being allowed to change the law. That way, if they still cut it, they can't claim it's because it allows for frivolous things. It'll be because they're that determined to fuck people over.

Now now, Pinkham. I imagine this is only step one in her plan. With the money Arizona saves from denying this outlandishly grand luxury to these freeloaders they can build work houses and prisons! And if they don't like it, why, they can just die and decrease the surplus population!

I suppose she thinks the homeless should soak and cook a pot of dried beans.

I would be all for this IF they would instead get these people eating healthy food. But since she just basically wants to take a giant dump on the disabled and elderly, she can go to hell.

I seriously bust out laughing so hard at the Clooney joke. So much better than the Cosby joke, which Fey already did on Weekend Update all those years ago. But the Cosby joke was about the courage in presenting it in the first place, so I'm totally behind that, too. :)
