I absolutely adored Black and White.

I totally agree. Asking for content that appeals to different audiences is such a giant slap in the face to all us straight white males. That one sentence in a twenty sentence article rendered the entire piece worthless to me, and Gizmodo should clearly be ashamed of itself.

So girls dont like porn in your world? That must be a really depressing and shitty world...

Yes, it is so PC to say you want more options in your VR porn... The audacity.

Well something has to elicit your comments, no?

I don’t believe there is a movie that displays more contempt for women than Sucker Punch. The fact that it thinks it’s somehow a message of female empowerment makes it so much worse.

Oh, fuck me — if I ever heard the word “realistically” coming out of the mouth of anyone connected with this FICTIONAL DRAMA regarding yet another woman being abused someone in going to get deep fried while I implore the Lord of Light to spare us all from the this bullshit.

Hey Kirk, remember when I was laying odds on how quick we were gonna get this comment?

My favorite part of that whole situation was Bush identifying as the “lowest moment of his presidency” in an interview several years later. A comment from Kanye. The lowest moment in the presidency of a man who started a war based on falsified intelligence.

It’s disappointing and pretty nonsensical that the First Order is essentially more powerful than the Empire only 30 years after it was so intensely crippled. They had to pay reparations to the New Republic but they somehow had enough remaining capital to TURN AN ENTIRE PLANET INTO A WEAPON?!? I feel like the film

These are all separate issues from the technique being discussed.

Every Frame A Painting and PBS Spacetime are some my favourite youtube channels. Tony Zhou’s series of video essays are some of the best around on cinema.

New ideas?!! We don’t need new ideas, just remake the first one, that’ll work!

Actually, I have a full time job, go to a university, and have a lovely girlfriend. it’s just a pleasant combination of off-season for my job and semester break right now. But thanks for noticing.

Now playing

I absolutely agree with your sentiment. I DO think that Bethesda was intentionally leaving the role-playing element in the franchise behind though.

That was kind of a sad part about the role-playing aspect on the game is that my character, a woman with a law degree, was *literally* maybe four hours into her day before she was frozen in a vault, walked out and was *IMMEDIATELY* bashing in the skulls of human beings with a security baton like it was no big deal.

I know this is heresy, but I’d rather have the prequels than what Abrams submitted. Abrams is a hack who is at his best when he is imitating his mentor (Spielberg). Lucas is a sui generis filmmaker who didn’t have the sense to step back from his prequel trilogy. But that doesn’t diminish his accomplishments in all six

She’s a bit mary sue’ish don’t ya think? She can fly, shoot, saber, force, mechanic (that’s a verb now) and all the other characters love her. I think the movie pulled it off and it was pretty rad, but still figured I’d just point out how she seems a bit too flawless.

Mr. Goggles and I stayed up WAAAY too late talking about it. We enjoyed it as a movie, the humor was great, but ultimately our biggest problem was that it felt SO INCREDIBLY derivative. There’s a line between homage and copy and they skirted too close to copy too frequently for us. Rey = Luke, Han = Ben Kenobi, Maz =
