I will always love Avatar because it’s unabashedly pro-science and believes that you can study something in an interdisciplinary manner. It’s so rarely to see the ‘soft’ sciences portrayed positively, and so rare to see scientists full of love for their craft. Will always love it for that

Bayhem totally blew my mind, but it was the Spielberg Oner that made me A) realise why he’s such a fabulous director and B) had a real influence on my photography, weirdly enough. I absolutely love Tony Zhou’s essays

Really enjoyed this vid, thanks!

I actually agree - all that I enjoyed from TFA was where it became novel. I loathe Abrams directions entirely. Excellent film maker terrible storyteller, and a director should be both.

My mum and I got to see it at midnight on Wednesay/Thurs in the UK and we were both really disappointed. While we laughed and oohed and aahed, we were both big fans of the expanded universe too and there is a big loss there. I hadn’t realised how much I really wanted Jaina and Jacen until I aw Rei kicking butt.

I don’t remember if I saw this in the cinema, but I do remember the first time it aired on UK terrestrial TV (Jesus, the nineties really were a long time ago) and watching it with my dad. I’d seen it before at that point and ‘got it’ straight off the bat. My dad, however, feels Pulp Fiction glorifies drug use so I

You and me both, friend. I thought we’d agreed TPM was the worst, hence Machete Order. Might need to check the minutes.

They’re not - it’s a really dreary office

Very much agree - it’s still lovely art, but it looks much more staged, whereas in this issue the panels look like they’re capturing moments of an organic conversation

You’re so right about the ‘effortless’ thing - that head tilt panel is SUCH a good Leia characterisation, looks totally natural, and yet I can imagine was a real bitch to draw. Takes a lot of effort to look effortless!

You could always turn Runner Vision off though (and on higher difficulties there was no option to turn it on), which I much preferred actually

In Scotland I’ve only ever seen these plastic frames around very heavy earrings that would pull out of a stud or butterfly plug. But since I either wear hoops or small gold studs (I’m a very classy lady I assure you) I haven’t owned a pair in years. Very tempted to go down the nearest Claires and see what they think

Ehh - after hearing what was good on the menu one time I decided I didn’t fancy any of the waiter’s options and wanted the tiger prawn tikka masala, which smelled amazing. The waiter advised me against it and when I asked why he told me it was extremely spicy. I asked if it was spicier than most tikka masala dishes,

Well I got hella good news . . .

I believe you mean ‘hella, most media...’

There’s a curious thing about this map, Google says Scotland has a population of 5.3 million, RoI’s is 4.6 million. Is that million enough to push Scotland into the white zone? Or is it because we just needed 5% of the vote to be independent last year and so we’re being lumped in with Britain, even though we are in

Seriously though - I’d be all over this

Your doctor was correct - the contraceptive implant is the most effective form of birth control as there is the least amount of user error (IUDs can, rarely, be implanted in a less than ideal position). However, the NHS categorise both the implant and IUD as over 99% effective - http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/con…

Came here to make this point - our dairy industry can’t turn a profit, and the US’s is just huge

I’m going to need to see your ranking algorithm, Meredith. 13 Going On 30 does NOT come so far down on that list.
