Well there's not much left for me to add! Good comment.

Now you're thinking with portals.
Um . . .
Yes, that definitely falls into weirdly specific denial territory.
It is very curious. The persistance of these figures throughout cultures is pretty intriguing.
I've sometimes wondered if it was a dream but (using legal terms) there's an established time line, I told my mum when she came back up the stairs, she laughed it off (until the cat jumped then there was no more laughing). And even when I was a kid I was a chronic insomniac. I never nap during the day or drop off.
Full disclosure - I'm a scientist and an atheist.
For sanity's sake, put that down to Craiglist weirdness.
I'd like to believe!
God that one just kills me. So horrible
"Talking on Kinja is a safe, constructive experience because you control the conversation"
Yes but was it a wave or a particle?
Now this is very interesting - particularly in light of David Cameron's latest plans for porn. Pathologising normal sexual behaviour indeed.
Anyone who says they didn't like the Power Rangers as a child is a filthy lying scumbag.
I bought this on dvd specifically so I could watch it whenever I'm feeling down. When the Rainbow escapes the smooze at the end I always cry, without fail.
The final passage in the Lost World actually infuriates me to the point of apoplexy. That and Malcolm's "you didn't earn the knowledge for yourselves, you took what others did and you took the next step"
This is why I love io9! I had no idea it was written by Elizabeth Moon - this disappoints me somehow.
Amen brother. Temple of Doom may not be the best Indy, but that doesn't mean it's not better than anything else out there.
LIES! Cheetara is still an icon.
Not sure if it quite counts - I read a book as a young girl (probably too young) which was a fantasy novel. The woman in it got horribly raped, tortured, etc. and was saved through her love of god and became a paladin. I'm sure she was proved to be a virgin after her rape because she loved her god.
