I had a rant about it that I think explains it.

I think this is probably the closest to the truth - I'm sure it's a fantastic movie, but I don't think it's a good (or even mediocre) Star Trek movie. I can go see lots of good movies, but what I want is a good Star Trek movie.

I'm terribly sorry my lack of interest offended you so.

It definitely doesn't cost £3 for me to go to the cinema.

Timey wimey wibbly wobbly, he could have done those things in between asking Rose the first time and the second time. I'm fairly sure that was the plot of several 9/Rose fics I bookmarked the hell out of back in the day.

The valeyard theory is interesting, but I wonder if it's 'too geeky' for the viewing public in general? Rare is the ten year old who's watched all the Who's to know what he is (and rare is the Tennant-fangirl who's watched all the Who's too I'd wager). I only know the Valeyard from my travels on the web.

Oh I'm confused - I thought he told River his name as part of the wedding ceremony?

I have to say you got more from the episode than I did, vis-a-vis the ending of River's story, etc.

Well as I said in the post - the rant is about why I have no desire to see the film, I'm not actually commenting on the film itself. Surely I have an informed opinion of my own wishes?

Not sure why I feel the urge to harp on about this - but I specifically called it a 'rant', not a 'review'. Rants are about passion and opinion, I certainly wouldn't read a rant for a measured outlook on something!

Ahh, but I say that despite being a Star Trek fan, I have no desire to watch the film. Surely I'm not obligated to fork out for a ticket just because I'm a fan?

Dear lord, someone has an opinion on the internet.

I posted a rant about this movie on my kinjalog or whatever they're called. It basically explains why I've no desire to see the film. This review hasn't changed my mind!
