Many countries I have been in have a greater culture of collective good and collective responsibility. We do not and it shows.

I spent a good part of my life living in Germany and what always amazes me is how bad Americans are at driving.

I drive until the car runs out. Then I pop the trunk, grab a plastic bag of gas, pour it into the tank/on my fender/on the ground, then drive to the nearest gas station. Easy.

If it’s on a roadtrip, the first gas station after it gets below a quarter tank.

I fuel up when the warning light comes on because I savor the weight reduction of driving without a full tank. 6.3 lbs of delicious weight savings per gallon y’all!

If you don’t know anything about the dekotora scene, it’s okay to just sit this one out.

Hadn’t heard that about CHOA.  I’d say their employees should use our efficient and convenient public transportation network, but I can’t even type that with a straight face.

Definitely a lot of panic here in Atlanta; a lot of the stations in my part of town are completely out of gas. Of course, I drive a Leaf so I can’t say I give a damn. I haven’t bought gas in months.

I live in Atlanta. Yes. Yes people have panicked.

While I generally find the “all gentrification is evil” narrative pretty limited, to me this is just called: Do Your Research. Figure out what happens in a neighborhood, decide whether or not you’d be happy to live there, and then sign your lease accordingly. Don’t show up and mess with the lives of the people who

I have one question. How big a dog?

My wish list for a next-gen Landcruiser is pretty short. A V6 hybrid (get the super torque from the electric but the range from a hybrid), increased space efficiency (everyone carries more junk, even off-roaders, and the current ‘cruiser is nowhere close to space-efficient). Yes, has to have available seating for 8+,

As an LC200 owner, I think it really just needs some Android Auto/Apple Car Play love. Otherwise, the interior is fine.

Toyota. I needed a minivan when I had my 3rd kid. Minivan #1 Dodge with 75k miles. Engine needed complete rebuild at 90k miles. Minivan #2 Mazda brand new. 50k miles and 7 alternators later, and I traded it in.

Can haz yes this..... If you want to be comfy, with a V8, and 4Runner/Prado Toyota bulletproofness..... Lexus GX470, a damn nice one can be had all-day-every-day for 10 grand.  And it can be serviced at your local Alaskan Toyota dealer.

The nice thing about Anchorage is that it’s so close to Alaska.

There’s one in Japan for $10k:

More differentiation between the Lexus and Land Cruiser versions will be good. Right now they’re basically the same car and there’s small reason to pick the Lexus with its price premium.

Sounds perfect, but deeply flawed, imposing heavier taxes on the rich and most businesses is going to drive up prices on goods and increase the cost of living...

And the other half hate fun.
