I, for one, am completely satisfied to witness the slow demise of one of my least favorite brands.

My thoughts exactly. its on the high side of being right in line with market value for what it is.
The pedal assistance is also how electrically assisted bicycles are distinguished from electric mopeds or motorbikes in Europe.
Give me an electric Miata with 150 to 200 mile range and optimized for handling and I’m in. A couple all electrics (Leaf, 500e) are surprisingly capable without even trying to be good driver’s cars.
Y’all are missing the joke. Think Bizarre Truck Triangle.
Thanks! I can’t keep up with the new slang anymore...
Between your two posts, that’s kind of the issue, isn’t it? EV fans don’t care about Mustangs and Mustang fans don’t care about EVs. So why make it a Mustang? It doesn’t really make sense to either audience.
You know, it’s actually a pretty decent looking car that I would even consider buying. But ditch the mustang nameplate, all you’re doing is pissing people off and alienating some of your potential buyers. The amount of people that will buy this based on it being a “mustang” has got to be a pretty short list of some…
I do get that, and I do love CJs, ZJs (if you have to ask...), and XJs (having owned all of them as well. BUT...for the price of 12 very rusty but mostly running XJs, you could have a very presentable, cross country capable FJ40. ;-)
Speaking as the lone fan of the spindle grill on Jalopnik...
I remember asking him about EV land cruisers in his future. He’s sees the possibility for it for sure, though like everything he does, it comes down to being interesting and profitable.
Damnit. I want this. To me this thing is cooler then any 6+ figure car I’ve ever seen (in person or in print). I never felt bad that I couldn’t afford the latest Ferrari quatrofolienflameblowupanello or whatever but the want for this thing right here is emanating from deep within my loins.
Can confirm. I have a 4 mile commute, and just sold one of our cars and am doing everything on an e-bike. It’s glorious.
Good ole Harley, missing the mark by overpricing and under delivering.
I know where these are going!
Theres nothing wrong with driving the vehicle you like. It's popular to hate on trucks, but driving a truck without using the full capacity is no worse than driving a sports car without taking it on the track.
You CAN get pretty damn close with Maltec
I’m with you there.
In the various genres of off-roading (rock crawling, overlanding, mudding, etc.) the Jeeps are aimed directly at rock crawling (trade payload for articulation), whereas the Toyota 4wds are aimed at overlanding and rough conditions (trade articulation for road manners and payload). They’re both great vehicles, they…
Yes they did with the FJ. The FJ could have sold so much better if it wasn’t for the quirky design and ridiculous door / half window setup. If Toyota had made the FJ more of a direct competitor to the Wrangler, we would still see new FJs today.
