The Tea Party would’ve full-on rioted if any Bush admin officials ended up in handcuffs, and I don’t think too many Democrats were willing to go to bat that hard for it either. 

As longs as Democrats hold the House, that’ll kill any impeachment effort in the cradle. But I do worry that Republicans will just flip the arguments they just made about Trump, and adopt a policy of immediately impeaching any Democrat president when they have control of the House.

I never really thought about it, but yeah, given that revelations about the Bush administration committing large scale crimes came out while Bush was president, it is odd that impeachment never really got off the ground. I guess after everything that happened with the Clinton impeachment, people just didn’t take it…
