Yeah, there always seems to be a weird undercurrent of jealousy to ‘teens behaving badly’ plots, like it’s good looking teens doing drugs and having casual orgies and whatever else they want before sliding into pointless nihlistic violence. 

I think you got the right of it--assumed to be less deadly than frontline infantry, but having military service was  basically a prerequisite for a political career for those old enough to have served in the war.

So, Trump deliberately sank the USFL to try to settle for an NFL team, but still failed at failing and ended up with nothing? I think this guy is not good at making deals or leadership!

The Tea Party would’ve full-on rioted if any Bush admin officials ended up in handcuffs, and I don’t think too many Democrats were willing to go to bat that hard for it either. 

As longs as Democrats hold the House, that’ll kill any impeachment effort in the cradle. But I do worry that Republicans will just flip the arguments they just made about Trump, and adopt a policy of immediately impeaching any Democrat president when they have control of the House.

I never really thought about it, but yeah, given that revelations about the Bush administration committing large scale crimes came out while Bush was president, it is odd that impeachment never really got off the ground. I guess after everything that happened with the Clinton impeachment, people just didn’t take it
