I honestly don’t think anybody involved in this movie has ever played a video game, or is even entirely clear on what video games are. One of the craziest things about the twist is that the movie is a moded fishing simulator.

I agree about the movies—the Hulu one is better, but the Netflix one compliments it really well and is worth a watch.

I liked Fyre Fraud more, but I agree that it’s cultural analysis fell short. It falls into the trap a lot of people do of using “Millennial” to specifically mean rich white young people, who usually live in New York. I did appreciate that it did want to put the Festival in a larger context—not just “millennial”…

Kind of hilarious how the next guy to own the house said he just straight up murdered Gef. Like the talking mogoose was talking shit, so he had to put a bullet in him. I also imagine this dude saying he has killed the Easter Bunny, and possibly fucked up Santa Claus.

I heard there was some of big twist to ‘explain’ most of the plot holes. I’m guessing that Reeves is actually a robot that’s been implanted with false memories. Or if there is a big thing with the last shot, maybe the whole thing is some sort of virtual simulation?

There was a brief period when somebody apparently was considering using the Dark Knight trilogy to launch into the DCEU--I think this is how Nolan ended up as a producer on Man of Steel--which would be truly insane. Comic book fans have a weird tendency to forget that an adaptation is separate from the original, so…
