Thank you! As I get older, I’m realizing just how inapropropriate it is for US/Southern culture to celebrate plantations. Yes, they are beutiful buildings but if people would just stop for one minute to think about the atrocities that went on there, they would hopefully realize that they weren’t these magical places

I know the plantation -Drayton Hall - where people on my father’s side were slaves. Due to rape, I’m actually a descendant of the Drayton family. People get married there now.

China invading Taiwan would be a spark that would ignite the powderkeg of simmering tensions in that whole region.

The U.S.-educated former law professor is the first woman to hold office.

Chen (President from 2000 to 2008) was much more confrontational with the PRC than Tsai is likely to be, and the PRC has its own internal problems these days. No issue.

Now playing

An interesting situation happened days before the election. A Taiwanese kpop idol singer (16 female) Chou Tzuyu was hunted down by the Chinese online community for waving the Taiwanese flag and proclaiming she’s Taiwanese in Korea (the place where she’s active at), and hence according to them “she spread the false

Well, looking at google translate of the original article it looks like this is more of a tourist attraction than a place of worship. And that rather than maple leaves being served, it’s some kind of maple flavored food like a cake. Which makes much more sense, since that is a popular flavor of sweet in many parts of
