Ugh! I had a kid like that in French. I finally had enough and told him to cut it out. For those kids i just hope they outgrow that kind of behavior.

I am. On the one hand i know some of it is biological, but on the other hand a lot of parents totally enable this behavior.
That last paragraph you wrote, pretty much nailed it.
The necklace she’s wearing in the first part of this video is awesome, that is all :D
I’m gonna guess ‘no’ :/
I love having feet too! And having lived in China I’d say this is just another example of the Chinese gift of creating tacky architecture with honorable intentions. :)
No worries, it’s not a church and the heel is meant to honor a time when women lost their feet to a disease. http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/taiwan/ar…
Just a quick FYI, because the reporting on this is pretty messed up. http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/taiwan/ar…
Just fyi, it wasn’t done in the name of religion. It’s more of a wedding chapel. http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/taiwan/ar…
Except it’s not a church, here’s a more legit source :) http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/taiwan/ar…
Except it’s not a church. It’s meant to be a wedding chapel, so more like Vegas.
Except it’s not a church, if you read the sources coming out of Taiwan, it’s a bid to get people to have their marriages there and it commemorates a time when many women couldn’t wear heels because they lost their feet to “blackfoot disease” the author of this article went for the more click baity title. Here’s a link…
I wondered if there was some cultural context missing here. I don’t read Chinese well enough to track it down myself. But let’s be honest the truth about this shoe isn’t click-baity enough for this blog. *sigh*
One of the first things i remember when I moved back to SoCal was driving past that restaurant with it’s flames and asking about it and getting quite the education about that place. I had no idea it was soo notorious!
You will be missed around these parts and i guess this means i should finally follow you on twitter. Good luck with your new gig. :)
Thanks for sharing this. I hate those people finder sites. :/
I highly recommend watching the whole sequence this came from. The interview with the girl in the pink jacket is heart breaking. http://www.canalplus.fr/c-emissions/c-…
She really is an inspiration! :)
I got to watch this woman do her defense when i was in Oregon learning my tribal language: http://www.nativevillage.org/Archives/2012/…
This is what i did my graduate work in and AICLS was an awesome resource for me! My own language is from the PNW but I have family and friends who are CA natives that have used the master apprentice program in their language revitalization efforts.
