Wow... and yeah, not every body quirk has a racial basis. Some of us are just weird. ;)

I know, once i found out about this, i felt soo much better about my feet and basically quite trying to shove them into pretty shoes that were never made for my feet to begin with!
Good!!! And i'm glad you found representation for your case.
That really sucks!! I hope you found good legal representation :(
Not surprised at all. It's a tough spot to be in because you do kind of exist between both worlds, never fully in either one. (Ojibwe, i'm assuming is the tribe, right?)
lol... very different weather in both places too! There's really different health and cultural issues depending upon the tribe, just to muck our labels up a bit more ;)
Well in my case "other" is just fine or an option to check more than one option is nice too. For NA's they prefer to identify by tribe, or use other terms like Indian, American Indian so for some forms they'll just list all three with a line to write down your tribal affiliation.
I once had to prove to someone that i'm native american, because i'm pale (thanks irish ancestors for that!) I've also had many problems with forms that won't allow me to pick more than one, or to choose other. And with NA stuff, there's the dicey issue of federal recognition too. However as you point out, medically,…
Me too sister, me too. Good luck with your job app!
Yeah, I can only watch or read so much before my heart explodes. And the comments on those types of stories are the worst!
Yeah,I don't talk about it much, esp after the whole KM stuff blew up...I don't need that stress in my life. :( I posted a bit about this on GT.
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/fro… have you seen this? I just had to turn it off, too close to home... :/
It's ok,i did a similar thing too,and boy am I glad that i'm not the same person that i was in the nineties! As for the mormon you're dealing with different theology/scriptures/family structure and culture. They also tend to marry younger. They are just as rebellious, but its expressed differently. (im speaking from…
I could get all theological here, but someone already did that. If you're talking high school and college,I think much of the behavior you observed was more about being adolescents than about faith. During that time your prefrontal cortex is still developing and it can be hard for kids to make those kinds of…
Well, i'm not sure if it's all that accurate either. According to this chart taro could be considered a yam, but if i recall correctly it's not.
Ugh! The TPA's!! I'm hoping to do student teaching next semester, if I can find a district that wants a French teacher, apparently it's a useless language in CA...sigh...
EEE!! this thread is hilarious, and as a bipetual person, please keep it up :) The popcorn is almost ready.
