She was NEVER going to insure it.  And it wasn’t going to have 1st Party Comp/Collision anyway.  She wasn’t going to get money for it from insurance in anyway.  People don’t buy 3k Cars and then buy Theft insurance for it.  Just not worth it anymore.

Came here to say this. Gen 1 N63TU did not resolve the oil consumption issues or fundamental heat shielding requirements from sticking the exhaust and the turbos in the well. I have the N63TU2 in a 2016 X5 and consider it a ticking time bomb, but boy is it fast! (and I have a B58 and S54 in my garage to compare).

Yup, N63 is not a wise pick. Along with the other red flags.

These kinds of cars (A8L, 750, S-class, etc) are absolutely amazing bargains if, and only if, you understand and accept the massive repair and maintenance costs they will likely incur. This car is $18,500, and you’ll likely pay at least that in the first three years you own it in maintenance and repairs.
