It installs the software but when it reboots it refuses the key and will go no further.

I have a newish laptop that I just bought. It had 8 which I immediately updated to 8.1 and it runs just fine. I’m worried that if I update to 10 it will slow my laptop, or have some unforeseen issue; why fix it if it isn’t broke? I guess I could restore factory settings if I wanted to.
