Am I wrong when I say those things are really expensive?

Depends - it may be unprofitable when the car is sharing in costs of R&D and the overhead of the company, but for me, as long as the car sells for greater than the sum of the parts + labor needed to build it, then that’s a profitability problem solved by sales volume and I wouldn’t sweat it.

Yes dummy. The government exists.

I think you’re misunderstanding.

That 70B figure comes from their GAAP accounting, meaning it says nothing about how they actually spend that money, or how much is meaningful R&D vs. just moving things around for patents.

Not really sure what argument you’re making here. The first half looks kind of right, the second half is all over the place. Do Trump supporters want good jobs without lifting a finger? I’m not a huge fan of the Trump supporter, but I’ve never seen that as part of their platform.

That’s fine. If doctors are at the top of the chain, and salary is a reward for effort. Teachers and professors by that standard, and the societal impact they have, should at least make 100. But that really isn’t the case.

You’re right. It’s 2k per month. Still - 150k take home is near 9k after taxes - I know a bunch of people that would do 2k on a car payment no problem to look cool. Not saying it’s a good idea. My household income decent and all of our cars are under 30k, so, different strokes for different folks.

Someone is going to lease the hell out of this - then someone else is going to buy it at near 50% of retail. I’m guessing that a lease on something around 120,000 is somewhere in the neighborhood of 1200 - 1600 per month? You don’t need to be “well into six figures” in order to pull that off...I’m not saying it would

Are you saying a modern 4Runner is or isn’t bloated?

Can you see where you being an active participant on this thread makes everything you’re saying slightly ironic? Or is that higher than your current level of information?

Given your handle, what part of the Splinter crowd do you fit in? What’s your bar for “high information?”

Yes the article is correct. Yes you are correct. Both can influence the stockpiles. Fact is, even with a weaker economy if the new C8 dropped tomorrow, sales would tick up. But yeah - my excellent credit union was giving me interest rates around 2.5 to 3% last time I bought a (used) car. And now, the rates are close

on my gas stove, and a cast iron skillet - high heat starts smoking grapeseed oil pretty quickly, and pretty much vaporizes it. Also, some people cook steak with butter, doesn't that turn brown very quickly?

Any time I try to cook any kind of beef on a skillet, ground beef, steaks, whatever, the fats and liquids from the steak end up in effect, boiling the meat a bit, and to my tongue it tastes funny. Which is why I prefer my meat on the grill. Nevertheless, clearly, people cook delicious steaks on skillets all the time.

I mean - she’s positing that the scuttlebutt about how Klobuchar allegedly manages her staff as an indicator that she’s tough and therefore a good bet. I’d say that qualifies as a fairly stupid take. I’m not going to march in the streets about it, but it does further solidify the case that this woman does not live in

The way I see the medicare for all thing - is that if tomorrow we essentially make insurance companies irrelevant, we create a massive vacuum in the economy. It would be disastrous. I think we should definitely do it, I’d just like to see how we plan on implementing it. On the other hand, a soft entry like a public

This is a really reductive and trite take. One, if you’re going to act like you know about Cuba, try to remember that it was Batista, not Bautista. He was a scumbag, and his government was terrible, but characterizing “a lot” of Cuban refugees as Batista supporters is pretty rich.

While I can sympathize with this perspective, I think what people were speaking out against was that there was little to no transparency and Amazon basically was stepping in and saying they wanted to bypass everything that other businesses need to do. I can understand cutting through red tape - but Amazon played

Corporate income tax is not federal income tax for individuals.
