If a car you want isn’t usable at your house then buy a new house....easy fix....people need to get their priorities straight.

SUVs are not commuters. Buy a sedan.

Auto trans? Crack pipe! What do I know though, all the muscle cars that are auto’s are worth a ton of money now too even though they aren’t the most desirable. I guess when the inventory gets thin the slushbox becomes acceptable?

Yep. How does one get a job writing loosely about cars and have zero understanding that each car/trans is different. My S2000 with its high redline and short gearing to take advantage of it would be a bear to drive long distances in without a 6th, or the gearing would be too tall and I’d fall out of VTEC with each

Exactly. Only someone who never drives long commutes on the highway would ever think 5 gears is sufficient.

Who needs two cruising gears? I humbly submit: no one.

Six -gears for me. 6th gear makes 80-mph highway cruising a non-taxing affair.

The answer is always one more. I normally drive a 6 speed. When I jump in my wife’s car with a 5 speed, I keep trying to find 6th. Yet, every now and then in my own car I’ll try to put it into 7th when I get up to speed. I don’t know why, but I always want one more gear.

I feel like there is a way to avoid having other people feel the need to touch/move your car.. I can’t think of it at the moment, but there must be some simple solution.. Hmm..

Nah you park illegally and you give up your right to an unmolested vehicle.

By and large, you should not touch another person’s car nor should you have a reason to. When someone double parks, they’re telling you they’re more important than anyone else and they’re encouraging you to take them down a peg. You lose your car protection rights when you infringe on everyone else’s rights.

Its a very different mentality in northeast cities. If you are willing to double park your car, you should expect it to get damaged, either by accident or on purpose, but regardless, no one will leave their insurance info because you double parked.

Came to the comments to say this. You’d think Jalopnik would be familiar with both flavors of NASA

Needs more Soviet era crappy concrete to complete the look.

I know you meant “host of problems” but now I can’t stop thinking about a firehose that literally sprays problems. “Oh great, you know what you did? You just created a hose of problems and now we’re all about to get soaked.”

Cali has been using rain grooves for 30+ years... It SUCKS to ride on... Even sucks to drive on. My BMW can kick it’s tail out from 70mph, cause the traction is crap and the grooves initiate uneven grip

Now playing

Valves rotate. (Not sure if this is true for all engines, though.)

I will agree that riding on those grooves is awful. That being said, if I hit that on a highway I’d be slowing down and looking to exit ASAP. That shit is annoying enough on local roads.

I am fucking tired of everybody, upon finding out I ride, feels obliged to comment, “My buddy died riding,” or “My uncle lost his leg.”

Sexiest fighter ever along with the Flanker. I have a thing for these two behemoths of a fighter
