Or you could just pay the subscription and get access to the multitude of excellent games available through this service while at the same time supporting developers who want to make mobile games that aren’t riddled with game-ruining freemium design.

Setting aside, for me it’s got more of a 70s Ralph Bakshi rotoscoping feel and character design.

Why would anybody buy this over an Accord or a Camry, or even a Mazda 6?

It looks like a catfish someone stepped on. Also $33k is dangerously close to “just get an EV” territory for me.

I’m sorry that you feel marginalized by pet owners.

As a recent parent, experiencing all the parenting things - sleepless nights, a constant flow of money out of my accounts, pooping and peeing with reckless abandon, and and a constant base level of stress about his health and wellbeing.... I think you need to calm down just a touch.  No one is implying raising a cat

I mean, everything you just listed convinced me that having a pet over a child was the right decision.

Did Patrick George get the Axe or did he move on before it fell?

Yeah I visit the Drive daily, but really only for Tyler/Joseph and the War Zone.  Anxious to see what Patrick can do with the rest of the site!

They need a lot of help. Not sure if Time Inc. will throw them any money for a revamp of anything there.

I was pleased as well when he made that announcement. After the whole Deadspin debacle, I started spending a lot more time on other automotive sites looking for something that I could call ‘home’ if and when Jalopnik gets private-equity-managed into Oblivion.

You mean killing a super popular sports site during prime sports season backfired? #MistakesWereMade

Pretty sure it’s referred to as “abandoning ship.”

Suddenly I am more excited about the change. I also read the Drive, particularly for The Warzone. The rest of the site though...it could use some help. Patrick’s touch would be of great benefit there.

Quick & dirty Patrick meme thread, I’ll start

1st Gear: You know the shit has hit the fan when a multibillion-dollar company decides to just ‘close’ for a couple of days. The fact that it includes Nissan Motor Acceptance ie. The People Who Get the $$$ shows you the utter desperation.

Patrick, without your guidance, Jalopnik wouldn’t be where it is today. You can tell you ran this ship the right way, simply by reputation. Alanis and Elizabeth both spoke highly of you when I met them in Austin, and our mutual friend Ramon Ramirez (hook em) said you were always brilliant, going back to when you were

Patrick,

If you’ll indulge me for a moment: after almost eight years, approximately 5 million Kinja posts and, thankfully, only one incarceration, today is my last day at Jalopnik.
