They might be sending some power to Oklahoma, but Texas is mostly segregated from the rest of the nation’s power grid.

Had to put on a balaclava to go for a nice long walk yesterday (-4F, windchill -22F) here in WI. Nothing like when it gets *really* cold (hit -20F actual, -50F windchill a couple years ago), so things aren’t too bad.

And don’t forget the fact that their power grid doesn’t actually connect to the other states, meaning that they can’t pull in power as needed.

(Almost) $100 per pony?

Pffft, you need to get in touch with your Old Testament.

“Simplify and add lightness”

So “my person cat is adorable and a total lap-sitter”?

Lol, the temperature here in WI hasn’t gotten up to 15 in almost a week, now, and we’ve had 2 snowstorms during that time. Guess what, when it’s that cold salt doesn’t melt the snow.  The city won’t even put it down, so instead it gets plowed down to an inch or two, and then that gets compressed down in to ice.

You’re right, every accident could be avoided if people were careful enough. Period. I’m sick and tired of idiots driving WAY too fast for the road conditions and then being shocked (shocked!!) that they ran off the road or crashed into someone else. And then of course it’s all the fault of the road, or the weather,

When we last purchased a new car (ok, my ‘05 Scion tC), it was all “pure pricing”, so we got a private loan offer from LendingTree (basically a blank check that we just had to fill out and sign, and it would count as our accepting the loan) and headed in. Salesman was great, and then we got to the finance guy. He

I feel like this should be one of those Hinge/Tinder/etc questions so that others can avoid your fate.

If I’m going to buy something in a red bottle with a forgettable name, I’ll probably end up with whatever house brand that store carries.

Not sure if trolling, or didn’t get the reference?

Worked great this one time when I'd just gotten off from a rough day at work and all I wanted was a nice relaxing breakfast to reflect on my choice of profession.

And then his wife threw her titties in my hand.”

I just scream out “Bitch be cool!!” in my best Samuel L Jackson voice.

You could take up smoking, and then quit, and save money?

Buy it.

To be fair, sometimes it kind of is. When a vehicle has a ridiculously-high projected trade-in value, you can get an insanely good deal before the numbers get adjusted. Or the company just needs to get rid of them, like the $49/month lease on the Fiat 500e deal that was going around a couple years ago.
