Fat tastes good.  Fat makes things juicy.  There’s really no getting around those two things.

As I sit here, working from home, staring out at the driveway and my 17 year old car that has survived 14 Wisconsin winters and 3 New York ones, and watching it slowly rust away, I fantasize about rust-free cars from southern states.

Sometimes I’m glad that when I was young, ~135hp was “a lot”.

Came to post this, and can’t believe I had to scroll this far to find it.

And it’s also $3k+ in USD? So probably more like $6k by the time you get it over here?

Yeah, but that’s not a downside for you, just the people behind you.

While I do agree, I’d actually put in a plug for the 5 series instead. Still great lighting, color and image quality, plus the Roku built in, but several hundred dollars cheaper. You’re not going to need the 120hz anyway since it’s limited to 60hz broadcast. And you’d save $300 over the 6 series.

I’d rather forget about that, thanks.

Right, but this isn’t Kelly-Blue-Book-or-Crack-Pipe, it’s for us to vote on. As in whether we think it’s a worthwhile price or not. And to me, for this particular car, is definitely

A little older, but pretty damn close. And yes, had both GT 1 and 2 for the original Playstation. Such good times.

Aside from the Miata, what other (main) car manufacturers ever emphasize light weight and tossability over power and range? The Toyobaru twins were supposed to do that, and they both start around 400lbs heavier.

Honestly, I always loved the progression in the GT series. Start out with 10k credits, buy a used FD RX7* for 9k and go hunt some Civics. Then you can take your couple grand in credits you just won and figure out whether you want to buy stickier tires, an upgraded suspension or a better clutch. Or do you just race it

Pork is on the verboten list of foods for jews and muslims for health reasons; and trichinosis is not the only one.

Yup, and yet any other industry would start to combine jobs and offer discounts based on how much time was actually saved. As I noted elsewhere, when I had my furnace and AC replaced I got a $2k discount for doing it together. Same with a contractor who I hired to do a couple different renovations at my house.

Parents bought an Outback a year or so ago.  I’ve already said that I want it when they’re finally ready to get rid of it.

Some back of the envelope math has the shop billing out at $150-175/hour. Maybe assume $150 since I’d gather they’d be somewhat quicker than DT at actually fixing things, although then there’s always the “pad each repair out to the nearest hour even if cumulatively it doesn’t take anywhere near that long”.

I was thinking that the harlequin paint job would be more pink and blue?

Lol, go away, troll.

Counterpoint - If there hadn’t been a Dukes of Hazard people wouldn’t be lusting after these cars anyway.  Combine that with the fact that they picked the cheapest, shittiest ones and destroyed each of them multiple times over (they’d cobble together a car, wreck it in a jump, straighten it out as much as possible and
