Seeing the photos side-by-side, they are surprisingly more similarly styled than I would’ve guessed. When you see them in person, they are much easier to tell apart, probably because the Ghibli is a foot shorter and isn’t quite portioned the same.

I get that they are different cars, but come on they look damn near the same to me lol.
Nooooooo. Those rotary shifters are awesome. They take up almost zero space in the front and I’ve never had an issue in multiple Ford rentals. When I need a big SUV rental, the Expedition is my go to and the dial shifter is literally part of that. The GM buttons are much more annoying to get used to, which puts the…
I had a Maverick for almost 5,000 miles (until someone hit it, RIP) and never had an issue with the shifter. Never shifted into Park on accident. I think you’re trying to make a problem out of sometime that everyone gets used in in less than a day.
I have one of those in my current vehicle and while it’s a little dumb, it takes all of 30 seconds to get used to.
My Telluride is on its 4th notice since I’ve purchased it to not park it in the garage. So ICE vehicles arent immune from an ol’ fashioned garage fire either.
Or just have homeowner’s insurance and you won’t have to live your life in fear. There are a number of other things that could cause a fire in your home, just sitting in there right now. Are you going to put them outside?
“Tesla fans” is not quite the same as “EV fans”, but otherwise I agree.
A “market crash”
“One caveat in the study is the ACEEE assumes Prius Prime owners were using its all-electric range for a “little over 50 percent of their driving.” One expert disagrees with the findings, as the WaPo reports, saying real-world use might undercut the data.”
Agreed, but PHEV are way more complicated machines and will cost a lot more in maintenance overall than a pure EV.
“That means there are around 2.5 million vehicles just sitting on dealer lots”
I can’t go through your entire diatrabe of garden variety often debunked swarm of negativity (it’s already past 1AM here and I’m too tired), so I’ll just say that electrification is still rapidly ongoing, and you shouldn’t judge tomorrow by the state of today.
Yeah, imagine how many shit overly heavy, thirsty crappy ass hybrids with double power trains and even more failure points you could make, instead of switching over to clean electric-only vehicles.
Tell that to the investors who screamed bloody murder when Tesla lowered profit margins.
You’re right, but you’ve got the cause and effect backwards. Americans will pay more money for a larger vehicle, end of. If I’ve got to develop advanced tech to get a vehicle through tough crash and emissions regs, the headroom afforded by a higher sale price with effectively the same engineering and manufacturing…
Automakers stopped making and selling small, fuel-efficient cars because people stopped buying them when gas got cheaper and loans became easier to get. Mass-market, low-margin models rely heavily on economies of scale, so once sales drop below a certain amount, automakers can genuinely start losing money on each sale.
The battery in the EV is part of the drivetrain. It’s like saying, “imagine if my 10-speed automatic transmission was trashed and I couldn’t go to Walmart and buy a replacement in an emergency”
In a decade will my electric car be as obsolete as an iPhone 5?
Allow me to grossly simplify the sedan culling that everyone appears to have subjective feelings about.
