This reminded me of this classic commercial from the same era. I’m pretty sure it didn’t air in the USA.

Super picky complaint: Why do the weird thing with the O in the title? At a glance it reads as ANDiR. What’s the point?

Cowards.

The movie is like a fireworks explosion in a candy store. It will hold up forever!

$50 million equals 268,990 year long subscribers. (50000000/(15.49*12))

I think the big problem is that management most surely intends to walk that number up to five days a week as soon as it can. Baby steps. As an example, the local state government started requiring four days in office per pay period (two weeks), and then quickly upped it to five. They were clearly going for six, but

And without any satisfying answer, we’ll have to assume they shot a man in Kingsland just to watch him pee.

It’s a fun movie! Every character (except for Tom Sawyer) was fun to watch and had at least a tiny story arc. Mina Harker was great! Nemo was great! The special effects were good enough! I had (still have?) the DVD and the commentary track was pleasantly informative!

In the summer of 1993, Coca Cola had this promotion that if you checked under the cap of a 20 oz plastic bottle of Coke you might win another 20 oz bottle of Coke. It you won, the message was printed in dark ink. If you didn’t win, nothing was printed at all. Therefore, you could tilt an unopened bottle to peek under

I was lucky enough to grow up near the Chesapeake Bay and we would have a nice blue crab feast at least once a year. The first time I encountered lobster at a restaurant I was baffled. My first instinct was to tear it apart with both hands but given the fancy tablecloth and dishes this was clearly the wrong approach.

Each of the prequels would have been better as a limited series like we see on streaming services today. Of course, those didn’t exist back then, and even if they did, George Lucas could never have resisted creating a movie blockbuster. But you could fill in the narrative gaps and make four great 45-minute episodes

I am getting up there in age (my first game purchase was Ultima 3), and I still wear my Chucks. The secret is to get the right insoles for them. I use the blue Superfeet insoles and they give me all the support I need. Granted, they cost $50, but they seem to last forever and you can switch one pair between all your sh

I enjoyed the comic books, but the character dialogue always felt off. It never felt like how teenage girls would talk and react, but how a middle-aged man would imagine that teenage girls talked and reacted. The characters felt generic as a result, as if you could replace them with boys, adults, robots, or whatever.

Just want to say a thanks to all those who were gracious enough to explain what “spontaneity” means. The cleverness of the AVClub commentariat may have diminished, but at least the pedantry is still going strong.

I’m living right between the two big fires. It’s weird having to plan your schedule around the forecasted wind direction. Wind from the north? No problem. Wind from the west or east? Wear a good mask or your throat will start burning.

Also works as this guy:

Legislating the placement of hands, to my mind, is ludicrous. It undermines instinct and spontaneity.”

It’s pronounced “Nikolaj”.

The Batman could have been edited into a great four-part streaming series. They could have fleshed out some story details and made an even better six-part series. As a movie it was just too long.
