Long ago, the Deadspin website was founded by a charming moppet named Will. Will loves the Cardinals dearly. I think the people who write for Deadspin take great joy in ripping the Cardinals for that reason mainly, but also because Cardinals fans are the worst in baseball, yet they consistently misidentify themselves a

Short version: their fans.

it’s a matter of principle

Dong Robbery: Robert Kraft’s next defense.

NCAA players don't need to be suited for college life, either.

I heard that’s what the XFL will do. No three years since you’ve graduated high school rule. They might get some players that aren’t suited for college life.

As long as the NFL has the NCAA acting as a de facto farm system - with FREE labor, the AAF is in deep shit. Maybe the AAF should start targeting high school kids and offer them something colleges can’t - MONEY (though I’m not sure the AAF has much of it to throw around) - if it wants to try to survive.

And he’s paying income taxes on that vs. capital gains.  Even worse of an investment.

Its got to get to $126,571 just to break even on inflation...

I don’t get this, it was $73K new and even if it sells for over $100K that’s not a huge return on a 25 year investment. Not when you consider the difference in convenience between holding mutual funds vs storing 40+ cars for decades.

oh goody, now *I’m* depressed.

Camden Yards has domestic drafts starting at $4

For weeknight games, I often take the train straight from the office with my computer bag. I assume this stupid practice will become widespread and I’ll have to dole out $10 bucks for the privilege of not leaving my computer at work overnight.

Your friend gets that at Yankee Stadium, and meanwhile, in Denver, they’re encouraging people to bring their laptops and work from the 3rd deck outdoor bar level at day games.

If you’re actually driving to Nats Park for a weeknight game, your masochistic tendencies are such that you probably enjoy being separated from your $48 for parking fees.

A bag ban would be long term detrimental to MLB.

“I don’t know what kind of business you’re in, but I tell ya what, if I was a head of a newspaper, and you didn’t do your job, you’d be held accountable.”

Oh yeah, today’s “advanced” designs will definitely stand the test of time, unlike, say, Monticello or the Guggenheim.

You’ll notice renderings on the construction fence of every building going up in NYC. I saw one in the Bronx where someone (with a sharpie) pointed out that all the people in the rendering were white and that the new apartment building was therefore not for black people.
