This isn’t an upcoming weekend anytime soon, but January 29, 1886 is when Karl Benz patented the Benz Motorwagen. It also happens to be my birthday, which is why I was destined to be a car enthusiast. Funny enough, today is my dad’s birthday, but he’s not a motorcycle enthusiast...

Good one. 12 points.

The crumpled newspaper in the cab prank reminds me of a time I participated in a prank on a friend in college. We filled up a couple hundred balloons and stored them in two cars intending to swap them out to fill up his dorm room with the balloons when he was away at class. One of the cars that stored the balloons was

Ironically, the only Subaru to not have a boxer engine!

I was curious as to when Subaru started using CVTs and it looks like they’ve been using them continuously since 2010, but they first had one to market in 1987!!!!!!

Please, I have no capacitance for electricity jokes today...but I just can’t resist them

Good to know that in a crash I will get a faceful of scratch-resistant glass

The next time I drove by the house, it was being repaired and there were three massive boulders on the front lawn. I have not seen another car plow into that house again.

I like the styling, but I don’t think this conforms to pedestrian impact standards (if they apply here) and the lack of aerodynamics can’t be good for range.

I live in MD and probably 40% of the cars I see on the road are from the early 2000s. I still see quite a few from the 90s and the occasional 80s daily driver. Hell, I had a car from the early 2000s (as in the year 2000) until 2 years ago. My current car is 9 years old.

I bought a 2012 Impreza with under 100k miles for $8k. It was so cheap because it had a salvage title, but it was being sold by a used car dealer who specialized in rebuilding salvage title cars. I looked him up and he had a good reputation. He even had it state inspected and it passed (how good the state inspection
