When life starts lampshading the lampshading.

Yeah, I’ve felt this at times. It’s too well-written to feel on the same level as most TV shows, but it’s not quite *there* on the level of, like, Verhoeven’s best action satire (which it seems to be heavily influenced by, right down to Peacemaker’s Robocop-style gunplay in the opening credits).

Yeah. I’m no psychologist, but it seems like they took care to make his weird brand of thoughtful psychopathy consistent. It’s just a lot of fun.

‘Twas both, each racist in their own ways!

In an effort to avoid cultural appropriation, Disney is committed to casting an actor of Thai descent to play the Siamese cat. But don’t worry, the racist accent stays as a winking nod to the fans.

It’s a good show, and the third season (second season part 1?) had some good moments. But there aren’t the big laugh moments Futurama seemed to land consistently. And the pacing feels like they’re leaving a *bit* too much room for the joke to sink in. “You get it? Did you catch that? The joke we made?” It’s an

My in-laws were on a trip in 2019 when my father-in-law said he wasn’t feeling well. Mother-in-law told him to go rest. He took a nap and died from a heart attack in his sleep. Probably the best way to go if you have to go, but completely unexpected for the rest of us. Point is there’s a lot that can happen in a hotel

Could be a heart attack – my father in law died suddenly during a nap. Just went to sleep, never woke up.

Bitch my father is a history professor. I’ve spent my entire life learning the US history they don’t teach in class. The US hasn’t forced decolonization, it’s rebranded it. The US policies after Reagan’s presidency especially, but starting much earlier with those Dulles bastards, have caused intense suffering and pain

It was the first thing I thought about too. And many other commenters.

We guarantee peace? Tell that to Central Americans, whose governments were toppled by the US (and whose death squads were trained by the CIA). Or maybe tell that to, idk, Afghanis who were literally abandoned in the middle of the night like that Onion article.

Yes, absolutely. The military is just a job choice, no different or more noble than any other. And in many ways, less noble than jobs that don’t require you to kill poor people in order to maintain the elite power structure. Gas station attendants, drive thru workers, garbagemen – all workers who make lives better and

Yep. Again, there’s no solution offered by crypto that isn’t already solved better by existing tech, even if the “tech” is just using cash to buy drugs like a normal, decent American.

10:23 is where you want to watch the video.

Thank you – came to the comments for this, not watching a long ass video for a 2-second giggle.

They offer no practical value in the real world, which is why they’re a completely unrelateable concept to people outside the NFT cult.

Yesterday, a small group of minimum wage-earning kids formed a union at a coffee shop. This photo says it all to me:

Just finished watching this on Tuesday. It was hard to get through. It wasn’t *bad*, but it wasn’t fun at a lot of parts. The set design was awesome, though. And the main trio of actors were perfect. But Vicious was just tedious and annoying. And stripping the tragic senselessness from Pierre’s episode kind of lost

One of the most entertaining interviews I’ve read in a while. Very much enjoyed how he colored each role with such differing details. (The Die Hard connection makes me think of the interview with Reginald VelJohnson, who – we’ll say – played it a bit “safer” with his.)

Exactly. Teslas are... fine, they’re just fine as cars. I find the assisted cruise control on my Pacifica minivan to be a more comfortable, relaxing driving experience than Autopilot. (Autopilot was stressful in comparison.) But I could overlook that for an affordable EV that sits 7... if the CEO wasn’t such a loud,
