Yeah, the older corvettes that are slow are kinda sad. Why not put a modern LS in? Can’t be that hard.

I recently shot one of them!
They’re great. I must have owned 20+ of those by now.
I tinkered with both. The T is just lighter, more basic, and it’s something I can constantly screw around with. I need that in my life or I get bored. I paid $23k and I’m probably $35-40 into it. I expect its worth right around that.
The sweet spot I dont know. If I were to get another, it would probably be a 78-80SC.…
Nobody.
Right on man. Its only old once. After its painted theres no going back.
Fine with me. I think its really all about what connects you with the car, without having a bunch of gizmos in the way.
My SC was too nice. It really couldnt be hot-rodded without losing value. I rebuilt the top end, spent 8k or so, and then it drove the same. Seriously disappointing. So I went looking for a car that was a good hotrod already. I found mine with a 3.0 SC engine (very tired one I later learned) already swapped.
The rear…
Shes a trooper, plus she loves driving the car. I’m not sure how I talked her into it when she was pregnant though.
I wrote it for here, its in progress. I’ll never buy a w140 again. I had a w126 once as well. Drove it from San Francisco to Milwaukee and then owned it for a few years. It got hailed out. I got a 10k check from the insurance company. I had been trying to sell it for $2500. They asked me “are you sure you dont want us…
Also to note, I had a VW caddy once, with a huge poodle on the back window. It said “poodle of doom”.
Not sure that sound comes through the same, but they definitely are a bit more basic, not to mention really fun in winter.
Ha! Thanks for the compliment.
A stock version of my car would be incredibly disappointing, just like an e30 M3 is. Modified and hot rodded though? It’s a another story.
Nice harlequin golf. :)
Know whats even better? My pregnant wife was with me. She abandoned me in Indiana to ride with a friend in his TDI Sportwagen Jetta.
I dont know. It’s not that I’m martyring myself. I just really dont care. If I have comfortable seats I’m fine with it. You can always wedge your shoe into the gas pedal for cruise…
I get that a lot. “DO A BURNOUT”. me: “I can’t, it’s rear engine”. They dont get it.
The Miata stigma strikes me too hard. I just can’t get over how weensy and playful they look. I also don’t have a straw hat. They should make an angry looking one, with more than 150hp. I’d be in...
I bought an older twin cam Suzuki Swift GTI once. I drove it for a week. the control arm mount on the frame rusted off. It didn’t drive so well after that.
I wonder how you’d have faired in the 930, and him in the Swift?
Thanks, great post! It’s great once all the apprehension melts away.
