Ford has been unable to keep up with demand for this trucklet. That is prima facie evidence that the price was too low. $5K is not going to dissuade very many actual new car buyers who aren’t Jalopnik parent’s basement dwellers.

When your product has a waitlist for every one you can produce, that is pretty good evidence that you priced it wrong to start with. No different than if they are piled 50 high on dealer lots.
I’d rather have the old one, it isn’t hideous on the outside and stupid on the inside. I’d rather have my 29yo Land Rover than either, which is why I own a 29yo Land Rover.
Meh. It’s no Vixen 21TD. No stick, no sale, and it won’t fit in my garage, unlike a Vixen.
Sales are up - but are they making a profit on them? That is the question. Sales in and of themselves are rather meaningless.
There was a group of things just like this messing around just outside of town here in God’s Waiting Room, FL a couple weeks ago. You would think you would want bigger tires, but most of them look just like this.
I figure if you do something insane, like drop a newborn out of a window, that is prima facia evidence that you are, in fact, insane. At least you were at the time. <shrug> But most legal systems are founded on determining how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.
The cage thing with an engine is a swamp buggy. People use them to fuck around in swamps and mudholes and whatnot. For no good reason I can imagine. Yuck.
I’m 6'2 and fit in a ‘60s-70s 911 just fine. Lovely *little* cars, as a sportscar should be.
The 1994 911 was rather bigger and heavier than it had any need of being. A ‘74 911 was less than 2500lbs and way more fun.
At least pilots who don’t follow the rules tend to take themselves out of the gene pool. Hopefully he doesn’t take anyone else out with him. At least Alaska is big and sparsely populated, not much to hit.
Sov Cits are always a good way to waste some time on YouTube. It amazes me how some cops will just let them spew and spew, and some cut right to the cuffing and stuffing. As they should. In particular, cops in my part of FL do not play this game.
I don’t buy that their numbers mean anything, especially over such a short term. These are not commodities like 3yo Camrys. Not enough are sold, and they vary in condition far too much make anything of a short term trend like saying Austin Healey Sprites are down X% since March. How many Muiras are even sold in a…
That’s great - doesn’t seem to be the case with current model year. I played with the configurator for giggles this morning. If I was going to buy one of these, it would be the basest of base Hybrids.
Damned if I know. Probably pissed off one of the “writers” here.
This is on my bucket list. My bestie’s cousin is married to Ray Everham, and they are bigwigs at the Amelia show every year. We just haven’t managed to coordinate our schedules to make it happen. Tougher for her being in Maine than me here in Florida.
First place - spent a month in Europe with my mother in 2015. Picked up my new ‘16 M235i in Munich, went to Austria, Hungary (visiting friends in Budapest), Italy, San Marino, Vatican City, Switzerland, and France. Hit a bunch of great auto museums including the Schlumpf Collection and both Ferrari Museums, and BMW,…
If I had $3M or so to blow on a car, I would infinitely rather have this than that stupid Paganinny roadster thing from yesterday. Far more usable, far more stylish. Achingly cool.
The Saab Turbo X was available as a wagon. Far more useful and interesting.
It really is infuriating. Force of habit is the only thing keeping me here at this point. And the commentariat.
