I owned one of these, way back in the early 80s. Column shift, and all-around awesome....except for the bench seat. It was literally a piece of plywood with about 1/2” of foam padding, wrapped in vinyl. And I think that was stock. I still walk funny because of that truck.

The white-scarfs have always been a problem for the air force. They have habitually gone for the “high-dollar fighter planes first” mindset, and everything else gets the leftovers. Fingers crossed that they wake up to the fact that they need the complete package.

The fact is, that the vast majority of people in America do not want to put any effort into getting from one place to another. They don’t *enjoy* driving/riding, they just want to get from one place to another in comfort and as much luxury as they can get.
