Netflix used to be full of these (particularly silent comedies) once upon a time. I wonder why it purged them, given that there was no cost to them.

I’ve actually seen a lot of those movies on MST 3000. So it looks like they use public domain films...pretty smart.

I think this is spot on.

I mainly think this is going to continue in phases. For a lot of America, it isn’t even real yet. And that should be a good thing, but the trend has been that places aren’t issuing stay at home directives until it arrives. Only 30 states have issued these types of directives.

The greatest trick ever pulled is Kanye convincing everyone that this was a good record. A few good tracks and a LOT of boring garbage, “boo hoo I’m a douche” lyrics, and everyone is like “oh so deep”. Runaway is an underwritten bore.

I pay those idiots at the NYT $12.50/month so I can read like 5 articles. I’d gladly pay that $150/year to Deadspin if they were rid of current management. 

I’m 100 percent in support of the entire Giz family resigning and creating their own independent publication free from Great Hill’s bullshit, and would do everything I could to help out. And a paywall would totally be worth it if it keeps everyone safe from vulture capitalists.
