Omg.

The only non-vegetarian ethical issue I can think of is that it might be upsetting for some meat-eaters to think of others actually *enjoying* watching - or causing - the death of an animal. Like, it's a little weird. I'm not crying about it over here, but if I had, say, a boyfriend who was all "yeah I totally go

And still not the #1 problem with that tweet.

Yes!!

Is there a good reason why it's humanoid, as far as design goes? Most of the sci fi I read has argued that humanoid robots are basically exercises in narcissism, but that it isn't a good design choice for balancing heavy (and expensive) machinery. That is fiction, though...

Haha thank you. I didn't mean that literally, I just meant that I would be a lot happier if that was a reasonable thing to expect female characters to be wearing.

You are fighting a losing battle, but I love your comments in this thread. Thank you for being sane!

It's the best word.

You know what, I responded to you and then read some of your other comments. I'm thinking you aren't exactly here to change your mind. Sooo...

Um, no? Weird.

Well, good thing I'm not doing that! :)

I'm not talking about artistic intent though, I'm talking about societal impact and root cause. They are both harmful! But the harms have different names and dynamics, and those names are important to know if we want to fix and treat them.

That does suck. :(

Hahaha I am so happy for you!

Or maybe if women have to be there at all, they prefer to have them out of hand to hand combat?

You know what's interesting here? How you slipped into referring to the characters as "we".

Btw, what you described is the man's fantasy of a man, not a woman's. Muscles on muscles on muscles is a male power fantasy, not a generalized woman's sexual fantasy, and video games developers gennnerallly aren't doing it to turn women on. I mean, how many other ways have we proven that they don't think women (or gay

They're hypermasculinized rather than oversexualized. The men in video games and the women in video games are both for men. There's some great gaming journalism on that - how the macho men is the male fantasy as much as the sexualized women are. As in, they want to be that guy

Are there really a "good number" of sexes, or just... not one? I am laughing over here at how foreign the idea of female characters seems in these quotes. Like people "from all walks of life ... boys and girls". Boys AND girls? Way to think outside of the box, Blizzard! That is some unexpected walk of life!

I believe it! I just mean, ten times in a day is a bit extreme and might be not really representative of the entire USA. It happens! Not minimizing that! I was responding to someone who said this says something about the country it happens in, that's all. It happens to me like once a week and I freaking hate it,
