Usually when I like an article I just enjoy it and move on. But people are not being fair to you, so I wanted to tell you.
You should come back at them with the comment that being alone is not the same as feeling lonely. Many people feel lonely in a crowded room, and many people who live alone and socialize infrequently (like one of my beloved family members) have perfectly satisfying lives.
Agreed. Also obvious in the comments here, how people are interpreting lonely as equaling people who weren't capable of finding a romantic partner, even though Lindy's article explicitly states that being alone is not the same as being lonely, and that it isn't necessarily about romance.

Yes and no. Western culture is all about responsibilization (I'm not sure about other cultures), everyone is responsible for the good and bad that happens to them in life. So yeah, lonely people do get blamed a bit for being lonely.
